Buhari showers praises on Obasanjo at Ogun state's 40th anniversary celebration
While speaking at the presidential luncheon to celebrate Ogun state's 40th anniversary in Abeokuta yesterday February 2nd, President Buhari showered praises on former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He said Obasanjo tolerated him and his excesses while he served as Minister of Petroleum under his administration in 1976.
“I express my thanks to General Obasanjo, who, as head of state, made me minister of petroleum and tolerated me for three-and-the-half-years. He tolerated me because God knows and he knows that I am not used to working as hard as he used to, but he allowed me to last that long and allowed me to work. If you go into records, that government made so much investment and infrastructural development in the petroleum industry. Two refineries were built, Warri and Kaduna. More than 20 depots were built; more than 3,500 pipelines were laid; and we were exporting refined products of 100,000 barrels per day. But what do we have today?”he said

CELEBRITYUPDATES:Wiz Khalifa opens up about Kanye's apology
Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West had some serious Twitter beef recently, but all of that has been resolved.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kanye tweeted
"Me and Wiz spoke yesterday," he shared on social media. "Great convo. All positive." What else, Kanye?! but didn't elaborate on how it went down. Luckily, Wiz opened up a little more about what went down with 'Ye during an interview with Angie Martinez for Power 105.1 yesterday.
She started off by asking:
"So were you surprised by Kanye's reaction that he took it so crazy,"
"I think everybody was but it's cool, everything's cool, we spoke it's all good," Wiz explained, which prompted the radio host to ask if Kanye apologized for what he said "cause he went far with the kid thing." Khalifa reassured everyone that West did, in fact, apologize for what he said, and added, "I accept his apology."
Speaking of making amends, Khalifa's ex-wife Amber Rose also met up with Kim Kardashian to clear the air and whatever tension there was between them today, as well.
"Her and Kim spoke and they're all good, too," Khalifa told Martinez. "They spoke and it's all good."Angie then said:
"That's kind of amazing, Wiz," the rapper responded with the perfect answer—"I'm like the Bob Marley of this.

Ezekwesili urges Pres. Buhari to tell Nigerians the truth about the war against Boko Haram
Former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili who is championing the Bring-Back-Our-Girls campaign has urged President Buhari to tell Nigerians the truth about the war against Boko Haram.
She said:
“The government cannot afford to go to the old ways where lies were fed to the people. Let there be truthfulness. Government should not create a trust deficit syndrome because it will be difficult to mend. Everything that the government is doing concerning the war, they should tell the truth. We will get used to it and join in the solution.”
“What drove us out of our comfort zone is that we got tired of not doing anything. We will continue with our core value. No matter what anyone want to do, this advocacy will continue. A pledge is a pledge. We made a pledge to parents of the Chibok girls and will not fail in this pledge.”
“We have gone through a lot. But what we have gone through is little of what the 219 girls are going through in the hands of the Boko Haram sect. Let nobody succeed in making us feel we should not continue. We will continue until the girls are back. The girls deserve justice and they have not been given justice. We are unhappy that they are spending close to two years in the hands of the terrorists.”
“I have not lost hope. There is no basis to lose hope. Though we might be depressed sometimes, we won’t lose hope. We will stand for the girls. We will hold on to the commitment the president made to the Chibok girls’ parents and Nigerians. We believe that he will keep his promise and bring the girls back.”
“Some people have been vocal about our Chibok girls, but now they feel the Chibok girls are distractions. Our Chibok girls are not distractions”

The Blackface allegations: Setting the records straight - Efe Omorogbe
This is the official reaction to Blackface's song stealing allegation from 2face Idibia's camp. This is from his manager, Efe Omorogbe. Read below...
When my attention was drawn to Blackface's twitter rant about the "theft" of his songs by his ex-band mate 2Baba, my initial reaction was to ignore what I perceived as an obvious marketing gimmick for his new single. The reaction from a vast majority of people on social media who read about the allegations was evidence that the ploy had backfired.
Blackface's press interviews since the twitter rant has made it necessary for me to present the flip side and set the records straight.
1. 2Baba and Blackface do have a bunch of songs they co-wrote in their days as Plantashun Boiz.
2. Both artistes have collectively and individually recorded and commercially released materials from this collection.
3. 2Baba has always given Blackface (Austin Ahmedu) co-writing credit every time he recorded any song that has Blackface's input - No matter how minimal.
4. Blackface has neither given 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) co-writing credit nor sought "permission" to record any of the materials they jointly authored.
5. Blackface has earned royalties off his shared publishing rights for about a decade.
6. A huge chunk of income he has made derives from royalties earned by the commercial exploitation of the successesful materials performed/recorded by 2Baba.
7. 2Baba did not and couldn't have stolen "Let Somebody Love You" from Blackface. The song was released about 2 years ago. Blackface complained about his name being misspelt on the CD sleeve and we personally apologised to him.
8. Yes. Blackface contributed to the writing of the first verse of the song. The second verse was entirely 2Baba. Bridget Kelly wrote her verse and Efe Omorogbe wrote the outro verse.
9. Efe Omorogbe is not 2Baba's manager on "Let Somebody Love You" but a co-writer.
10. The outro verse was lifted from the song "How?" written in 1997 and recorded in 1999 at Dolphin studios, Surulere. Blackface didn't write that bit. Couldn't have written that bit. Blackface cannot in 2016, touch Efe Omorogbe's writing from 1997.
11. Blackface should be honoured to have shared co-writing credit with 2Baba. I am. For each and every song we have collaborated on.
12. Blackface should be grateful 2Baba recorded their co-authored materials to ensure a lifetime of royalty income for him.
12. Blackface should record and release his own version of "Let Somebody Love You" and keep 100% publishing on that version. Oops! 2Baba will still be entitled to a share.
13. Blackface is not in 2Baba's league as a songwriter. Their post-Plantashun Boiz' catalogs speak for themselves.
14. Blackface should go to court to seek redress if he indeed believes he has a case.
15. Blackface should know that nobody ever secured a court judgement via a twitter rant or media tour.
17. Blackface must have realised by now that the unfortunate tirade has not made "Killa" a hit. At least, not at the moment.
We grind our way to the results we seek bro. Just HARDwork. No short cuts!
- Efe Omorogbe
