Photos: Woman Blinded And Badly Burnt In Acid Attack, Finds Love In Hospital

An Indian woman who suffered horrific burns to her face and lost her vision when she was doused in acid by a scorned admirer has revealed how she found the love of her life while recovering in her hospital bed.

Pramodini Roul, was just 15 years old when a bike-borne paramilitary soldier threw acid on her face because she had rejected his marriage proposal, in an attack that left her with life-altering facial burns and blind in both eyes.

The survivor, now 25, who is lovingly called Rani – or queen – by her family, was a 10th grade student then and was returning home from taking an exam with her cousin when the 28-year-old man threw the corrosive liquid into her face.

In the years since, Rani has been in and out of hospital for various surgeries as well as treatment for the health problems that have plagued her as a result of her ordeal – including a stint in 2014 to address an infection in her legs.

It was then Rani met Saroj Kumar Sahoo, who was a friend of her nurse – and now the couple plan to wed.

Rani spent four months in ICU immediately after the incident, and later spent four years bedridden at her house in Odisha in eastern India while her widowed mother took care of her alone, bandaging her wounds.

After suffering pain for almost a decade, undergoing five reconstructive surgeries including one to restore a degree of vision in her left eye, and battling with depression, Rani says she has finally found a reason to live again – her boyfriend Saroj Kumar Sahoo.

The two met while Rani was in hospital and have been living together for a year in New Delhi – and are now planning to get married.

Rani says:

‘Saroj really treats me like a queen. He loves me like the way I am. He always encourages me to live life happily.

‘He has become a part of me. I would not have been able to see the world today if I did not have him in my life.

‘I feel very lucky to have him. He is very understanding and is always there for me. It always feels good to be loved and be assured of having a partner who loves and recognizes the goodness in you.’

Rani and Saroj met in March 2014 at a private hospital where she was admitted for the treatment for the pus-filled infection that had ravaged her legs.

Saroj was a friend of the nurse who was looking after Rani and was on a regular visit when he saw Rani’s mother crying helplessly and extended his support.

Rani said:

‘We met in March 2014 when he had come with his friends to visit the hospital. Initially we didn’t speak to each other, even though he had seen me.

‘However, after around 15 days he started to speak to me. He would often visit the hospital.
‘I believe he saw my mother and observed her and then slowly started extending helping hands. She would always come alone for my physio therapy.

‘One day he heard my mother ask about my improvement and how long would it take for me to recover as my lower body had by then deteriorated. I was not even move without help, let alone stand on my feet.

‘The reply wasn’t very positive as the doctors said that it would take at least four years for me to be able to walk. My mother naturally broke down when she heard that. That is when Saroj consoled her and assured her that he would do everything possible to get me walking.’

The 26-year-old started visiting Rani everyday to boost her morale. He eventually quit his job and spent eight hours a day to look after Rani.

She said:

‘He was extremely caring and looked after my needs. He would talk to me for hours and motivate me. It was a tough time for me when doctors had told me I would not be able to walk for four years.

‘I had already lost my eyesight and the thought of being bedridden was an added woe. But Saroj did not lose hope. He would encourage me everyday, motivating me to be positive and have hopes.

‘He even quit his job to meet me everyday. From 8 to 12am in the morning and 4 to 8pm in the evening, he was there with me. It had become a routine.

‘Just as medication was required for the physical recovery I needed dire support and encouragement at the mental level.

‘Gradually, the wounds started healing and with treatment and exercise and with his help and support I regained my confidence and now I am standing back on my feet.’

Rani had not seen Saroj until this September when she had undergone the first surgery in left eye. Yet she says she had fallen for his charms.

As their friendship got deeper and stronger, the two expressed their feelings for each other but Rani was initially sceptical of being in a relationship as she felt she was not ready for it.

‘It was 14th January 2016, we were in Agra where we he wept and expressed his feelings for me.
‘I too had fallen for him loved him and I did tell him that. But I also knew that loving is different from entering into a relationship.

‘I was not fit enough to look after myself, how could I keep others happy. So I didn’t really agree then. But it was he who kept encouraging me, by telling me not to think too much.

‘He assured me that there will come a day when I will not just be able to see the world and work but will also be able to make others happy. He always had my confidence,’ she said.

While Rani and Saroj have been accepted by their families, the two are waiting to get further reconstructive surgeries before they take the plunge.

Rani’s neck has started bending as the skin in her backbone had completely melted. She still further surges for her eyes as she is only able to see a little and needs plastic surgeries on her head as a major portion of skin is missing.

Recalling the day she had seen herself first time after the attack, Rani said:

‘I felt scared of myself.
‘I had not seen myself from the day of the attack to the day I went blind. I only saw myself in the mirror after my eye surgery in September this year.

‘I did have some idea of what the tragedy had done to me but when I saw myself I felt extremely hurt. I was so scared of myself that I cried the whole night.
‘I am hoping to get further surgeries as soon as possible. Doctors say I need at least four more surgeries.’

The surgeries are extremely expensive. Rani’s mother has exhausted all her savings in the previous surgeries but have no resources to foot in the further operations.

Rani works with Chhanv Foundation, a support care for acid attack survivors that helps in arranging funds for their surgeries and rehabilitation.

‘I am happy that I am able to restart my life again but it would be wonderful if I can get all the reconstructive surgeries soon.

‘My mother could not arrange money for my treatment and we had to stop it midway. The delay has caused several complications and need to be addressed soon.

‘I also want to do something in life, look after my sisters and then settle down with Saroj.’

Rani says her alleged attacker has not been arrested.

She said:

‘I am still waiting for the day when the attacker would be arrested and put behind the bars.

‘I filed a case against the man and had also received summons from the court asking for the submission of evidences. But because I was bed ridden and my mother was left alone nothing much could be done.

My younger cousin was an eye witness, but there was no one to take him to the court.
‘Because of all this the case was dismissed in the year 2012.’

Ruggedman Blasts Blackface For Calling Out 2face, Calls Him “A Sad, Jealous, Washed Up, Veteran Upcoming Artiste”

Hours after Tuface came swinging at Blackface for ranting about him yet again in a new interview and saying Tuface no longer makes good music, artiste Ruggedman has joined the slam.

Ruggedman has written Blackface an open scathing letter in which he dismissed the veteran as a sad, jealous, washed-up, veteran upcoming artist who needs to hit the studio and put together new songs.

Trouble started after Blackface attacked Tuface yet again in a new PulseNG podcast and said the well-loved singer wasn’t making good music anymore. Blackface also dragged Ruggedman.

Read Ruggedman’s epic reply below:

My dear @blackfacenaija I greet you. I saw your little interview on @pulsenigeria247 and decided to take a little time off to answer your call.

I have been doing my best in setting good examples for young cats and I feel great seeing them doing good. It’s sad I have to write this, but they will understand.

I am and will always be a fan of your one and only album “Ghetto Child” that had some conscious tracks in it. By the way, i am sure you are not blind and can see that Nigeria is still not as great as we want. So why aren’t you singing everyday about it like you said you expected me to keep doing about artists copying?

Every time I read about you on social media you are complaining and ranting. If your people around you wont tell you the truth i will.

You are begining to look like a sad, jealous, washed up artist who can’t keep up with his fellow artists. Like you can’t make music anymore.

An example is the fact you claim you wrote certain songs @official2baba allegedly stole.
A grown man would hit the studio and record more of such songs like 2baba, myself, @soundsultan , the great @daddyshowkey , @realafricanchina and @oritsefemi have been doing and prove to the world you wrote them.

But you turn town crier at any opportunity you get in front of a camera. I dont want to believe that complaining on interviews and calling artists names is your only hold on relevance.
You should be smart enough to see that the media are manipulating you for content and turning you into a laughing stock.

My brother you are too talented and too old for all this.
You are now a veteran upcoming artist bro.
Putting my name in your interview was a wrong move.

So my sincere advice to you is face the fact that @official2baba is not your dad and owes you nothing. Let the man drink water and drop cup.If you had proof of your claims you would have gone to court all these years.

The fact that you are old in the game doesn’t make you an analyst.
Not every old man is wise and the even the wise ones know when and how to talk.
My brother if you hit the studios as much as you rant, I know one good song would have come out.

This is the last time I will talk to you on these matters.God bless

Photos: See Boy Who Can Twist His Head 180 Degrees To The Back Of His Head (Jaw Dropping Video)

This is Pakistan’s ‘human owl’ teenager who can turn his head 180 degrees to look directly behind him.
Muhammad Sameer, from the southern Pakistani city of Karachi, uses his hands to help rotate his head back over his shoulders.

Now the 14-year-old is hoping his unbelievable flexibility will land him a part in a Hollywood movie.

The teenager, who trains constantly to keep up his elasticity, said: ‘I would have been six or seven when I saw an actor in a Hollywood horror movie turning his head to look behind him.

‘It fascinated me. I started practising for it and within few months, I was able to it.

‘My mother slapped me when she saw me doing this and told me never to do it again as I might end up hurting my neck but with time she realised that I’m God gifted.

‘My dream is to work like that actor in Hollywood horror movies.’

Sameer quit his studies and became part of a dance group, Dangerous Boys, to earn a living and help his family run the household affairs after his father fell ill.

Sameer explained:

‘I can make around £100 to £120 every month.

‘I work so that I can support my family. I don’t want that due to lack of resources my four sisters do not have to quit studies.

He has found several fans in his dance group and never shies away from showing his incredible talent.

Related news: Peter Okoye Finally Reveals The Only Way He Can Get Back With His Brother Paul

In an exclusive chat with, Peter Okoye, revealed that the PSquare Clan can actually get back together, only if the “respect” that was initially in the team can bebrought back.

Vibe: 18 years down the line-what would you say is your fondest memory of P-Square?

Peter: Ever since we started till date, it has been fun till like probably late 2013.

Is there anything you’re likely to miss?

Like I said, 30 children cannot continue to play together for 30 years. We are at a point where we no longer have respect for each other. It is not ego or pride; it’s respect… Respect as an individual, and as family. This is the best solution we could come to.

You guys have been together for quite a long time. Not many groups have done that. What helped the group last as long as it did?

Respect. It was respect all through. What made us grow was respect? Not because we’re brothers. Not even because we’re twins. It was because we had respect for each other.

We’ve seen videos of people crying on social media because they heard about the breakup. How do you think fans will handle this transition?

Change is constant. I always hear people say blood is thicker than water. I’m married. I did not select a wife for anybody. The question is, who is water? Are my brothers blood and my wife and kids the water? It’s like asking me who is priority. When was the last time your parents decided to look after their siblings more than you?

To the fans, we’re sorry. You don’t want to see P-Square on stage when they just fought back stage; pleasing you guys when we are not happy. I’ve tried many times to make it work but it did not work… I just had to give up for the sake of the respect of our individual families.

Is there a slight possibility that some day, we will get back the P-Square we used to know?

Of course. When the respect is back. When you stay apart for a while, the respect will come. We’ve lost it.

People will never understand but we’ve lost that respect. Like I said in the open letter, we will work in future but when we come back, it will be from respect. There was no respect that’s why there has been a back and forth. Aren’t you guys tired of it? If I tell you that P-Square is back now, people will say “You guys are tricking us”. Don’t play with people’s minds.

I don’t have any problem. All I said is that, have it at the back of your minds – P-Square is for the fans. Peter, Paul. Jude and family, is family.

People say why do I put my business on social media? If I say I am not dealing with this manager (Jude Okoye), it is for the public to know because it is the public that will still call and book a show with him.

I give him my respect as an older brother. I don’t have a problem with that but when you disrespect me based on the job, then there’s a problem. One thing I will never do when I come back to this life again is mix family with business.

Social media has indeed been utterly crazy. Everybody has an opinion about this matter. How have you managed this intrusion?

Whatever is out there, is what the fans need to know. Last year, nobody knew what was happening. “When are you guys releasing a song?”

They did not know we were fighting but we’d still go on stage and perform. All I wanted was to keep the family together but what the fans wanted was to have P-Square. We gave you guys P-Square even though the family had been fighting for about four years-even as of last year that we claimed we were back.

I cannot even face the shame of making the fans feel that we are okay. We are not okay. It’s not healthy. I don’t have any problem with their own family. The wives, everybody. I am cool with them. I don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know why it looks as if the hatred is on my family. I’ve tried to ask them what the problem is but nobody is telling me anything.

It’s like saying Mr Charles and Mr James are business partners and they own a beverage factory together. Mr Charles and his partner work together but Mr Charles doesn’t like his partner’s family. All the time, he insults the family. All the time, he says sh*t about the family. All the time he doesn’t attend the family’s functions. Do you expect two of them to still be working together? Be honest with yourself.

Now it looks as if the most important thing is for the 2 partners to be in the business while they are fighting. They will come and smile to the people that everything is fine. It’s not fine. There’s a way you pinch someone; it will be painful at first and then later, you don’t even feel anything. I don’t feel it anymore.

What major lessons would you say you learnt while in the group that will be applied to your brand as Mr P?

Don’t put yourself in a corner. Let no one ever tell you “You cannot do it without me”. If there’s one thing I have learnt in all this, it is that being a man is not just having 2 balls. Being a man is about standing for your family. I cannot trade my family for anything, I’m sorry… They cannot trade their family for me. It’s like waking up and asking me “Your family and me; who is more important here?” And I throw the question to you and you cannot even answer it.

Do you think it’s possible for any music group to remain together till retirement?

It is not possible. It has never happened. Never. Some individuals decided to separate 2 individuals by saying this person Is better than this person but my motto is, if you steal from Peter to pay Paul, you’re paying P-Square. “Oh I hate this Peter.” Well if you see 2 of us on stage, with Peter on one side and Paul on the other side, you will watch the show like this. (He covers one side of his face with his phone).

The reason why I started responding to social media is because there was something that came out one time. I was advised “Peter do not say anything” but it’s affecting me today. When my brother put out that he sings and writes all the songs. I never responded but right now, there are 50% of our fans and some groups that believe Peter doesn’t sing. All because I wanted peace. But now if you say anything about me, I will respond. I don’t respond harshly if you’ve noticed. I’m not like last year. I decided to calm down because my family is more important here. I cannot trade my family. If you do not like it, don’t be my fan. If you do not like the fact that I am standing for my family, then you should not be my fan and I am serious about it. My brother is my twin, fine, but you keep asking me blood is thicker than water. Obviously you think Paul is my blood and my family is the water? You guys better be out of your minds.

Being apart is the best solution at the moment. It’s not pride. It’s not ego. It’s respect. We’ve lost it.
