Rabbit set to be world’s biggest mysteriously dies on United Airlines flight

The 10-month-old continental giant rabbit was being sent to his new celebrity owner, whose identity hasn’t been revealed.
“Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle,” breeder Annette Edwards, of Stoulton, Worcs, told The Sun .
“Something very strange has happened and I want to know what. I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before.”The animal was found dead when it arrived at O’Hare.
"We were saddened to hear this news,” a United Airlines spokeswoman said, according to the Mirror.
"The safety and wellbeing of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team.
"We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter."

Ms Edwards, a former glamour model whose rabbits are said to be hired out at £500 a time, said the new owner in the US are considering legal action against the airline, the Sun reported.
Darius, the Guinness World Record holder for world’s biggest rabbit, weighs three-and-a-half stone and costs his owner about £2,400 per year in food alone. His mother Alice held the record before him and Simon was expected to continue the family tradition.
Mom holds Funeral for sick son that she had 'cremated', but all isn't as she claims

She said even though he was confined to a wheelchair, she would still make sure she fulfilled his final wishes, such as riding in a helicopter and meeting Santa.
So a lot of people donated to her GoFundMe account to help fulfill the boy's wish.

On the 8th of April she announced on Facebook that her son had died of the illness and had been cremated and laid to rest at a memorial service shortly thereafter.
However, according to News 4, Carson City Sheriff's deputies received a tip that Morrison had been collecting donations on a now defunct GoFundMe page claiming her son had died.
The tipster had reportedly called Morrison's husband who said the child was alive and well.
So when deputies conducted a welfare check on the mum, she insisted that her son had passed away in a hospice days earlier and had been cremated.
The Sheriff's Office then contacted the county coroner to obtain a death certificate, but they were unable to find one.

Sheriff Furlong said:
“A service was held in Fallon mourning his loss when in fact he's been fine all along.”Sheriff Furlong told reporters that Morrison's son had in fact been diagnosed with a disease a year ago, but that it was treatable. The mother used her son's circumstance as a way to solicit money. He added:
“But she used embellished medical information to convince the child, the schools and the public that he was terminally ill.”According to the Carson City Police Facebook page, Morrison's son had missed months of school. The page explained that the boy's alleged illness was also highlighted this past Christmas during a local charity event that was covered by the media. He had even been given a helicopter ride. Morrison wrote on her GoFundMe page:
“Blake made a list of things he wants to do before he gets to sick, now it's my job to help him do just that.”Video footage from December 2016 also showed Morrison with her son speaking to reporters about his illness. In the clip, she told cameras:
“It was so uncomfortable, but I wouldn't change it,” she said.

Emir Sanusi spent N37m on telephone calls in 3 years - Emirate Council says

According to Mahe, the monarch paid N37 million to Airtel to enable him make calls which most times are international.
“It is true that the sum of N37,054,196.06 was paid to Airtel due to the fact that the emir has been identified with only one local mobile phone which he uses within and outside the country. Majority of the charges are that of roaming, which is normal. The telephones charges of the palace are paid by the council, particularly when it comes within the provision of the budget.”
Mahe also disclosed that on the advise of the state government, N142.8 million was used to purchase the Emir's bullet-proof cars. “This was as a result of the attack on the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, on his way back from Murtala Muhammed Mosque to the palace. The sum of N108 million was paid to the children of the late emir by the council, in respect of the late emir’s personal cars inherited by the present emir.
The cars now form part of the emirate council’s fleet in the palace” he said The Walin Kano also disclosed that about N152 million was spent to purchase furniture for the palace because those used by the Emir before Sanusi were removed and given to his children according to Islamic injunction. “The sum of N152,627,723 was paid to Dabo Gate for the procurement of furniture for the palace. After the demise of the emir, all his belongings, including the furniture, were removed and given to his children in accordance with Islamic injunction,” he said
The emirate spokesperson also dismissed allegations that the council spents billions of naira on chartered flight, adding that the council only chartered flight twice for the emir’s movement to Sokoto and Benin City. "The council chartered an air flight twice for His Highness for the following trips: In September 2014 to Sokoto, when the emir paid a traditional homage (Mubaya’a) to the Sultan of Sokoto after his turbaning as Emir of Kano and the council spent N4,651,000.
In January 2015 for the trip to Benin for his installation as chancellor of the University of Benin and it cost N9,071,000. All the trips were made a as a result of lack of scheduled flight at that time and it cost the council the sum of N13,722,00 as against alleged N9,071,000.”
Court grants ex-first lady, Patience Jonathan, unrestrained access to her $5.9m Skye bank account

The EFCC had applied for a stay of execution on the court order unfreezing her account. However at the court hearing today, counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that the agency was withdrawing its application for stay of execution on the order and is also not going to appeal the order.
Counsel to Patience Jonathan, Ifedayo Adedipe, confirmed to the court that he had been served with the EFCC’s application to withdraw its application for stay of proceedings.
Adedipe also notified the court of his clients plan to withdraw the Form 48 and Form 49 he filed to cite Skye Bank for contempt of court for not allowing Patience Jonathan withdraw money from the account despite a court order unfreezing the account.
After hearing both sides, the presiding judge, Justice Olatoregun, granted the request for withdraw of their respective applications, giving Patience Jonathan unrestrained access to make withdrawals from the account.
