Rapper Fabolous charged for assaulting his longtime girlfriend, faces 3-5 years in prison

Rapper, Fabolous has officially been charged following allegations that he assaulted his longtime girlfriend, Love and Hip Hop" star, Emily Bustamante, causing her to lose two front teeth.

Bossip confirmed that the Brooklyn rapper is now facing one count of aggravated assault in the third degree as well as one count of making terroristic threats, also in the third degree.

In the rapper's complaint which was obtained by BOSSIP, Emily Bustamante said her sons’ father committed domestic violence against her, punching her in the head seven times, “causing severe damage to her two front teeth,” which later had to be medically removed.

The father of two also texted Emily to “inform her that he would hit her in the head with a baseball bat,” and after he tried to obtain a handgun that had been removed, “informed the victim that he had a bullet for her,” his complaint says.

It was reported that the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has stepped in and will be trying the case against the Brooklyn rapper.

According to BOSSIP, the “Throw It In The Bag” rapper could face three to five years in state prison along with up to $15,000 in fines for the aggravated assault charge alone, if he’s convicted.

Fabolous is due back in court later this month for the ongoing case.

Some days ago, a video also surfaced online which shows Fabolous raging bitterly at his babymama of two children and her father while holding a knife.

"Who is she?" John Boyega responds to Toke Makinwa's accusation that his bodyguards disrespected her at a bar in Lagos last year

John Boyega, the Nigerian-British actor who became famous for his role in the 2015 film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has addressed the issue with media personality where she accused his bodyguards of disrespecting her at a bar in Lagos.

Toke said John's bodyguard's asked the waiters not to serve her a drink because she took an empty seat which they claimed was for John and his team. But John has denied knowledge of this and even says he doesn't know who Toke Makinwa is.

He said this during an interview with Cool FM OAPs Freeze and Kaylah. When Freeze mentioned the controversy the last time John Boyega came to Nigeria, the actor acted completely surprised, as though he'd never heard of the incident Toke spoke about where people from his camp embarrassed her at a bar in Lagos.

Then, the OAPs went on a break and during the break, John immediately turned to Freeze and asked what drama it was he was talking about. Freeze gave him a hint, saying that someone accused him and his people of kicking her out of a bar.

"I didn't kick anyone out at the bar," John quickly said in defence.

"Toke Makinwa reportedly assaulted by John Boyega's bodyguard," Freeze clarified.

"Wait, what?" John asked in shock and others laughed in amusement.

"First of all, who is that?" The star added, eliciting more giggles from everyone in the studio.

But he kept on insisting he's never heard of her and continued asking, "Who is that?"

"I'm sure if I know who the person is, I'd have known your name before I came out. I'd have known you [Freeze]. I don't know everybody on the radio."

Photo: President Buhari meets with APC governors, agree to end Oyegun, others tenure

Barely 24 hours after their first meeting, President Buhari this afternoon met with five APC state governors and they have agreed to end the tenure of the National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun and other members of the National Executive Council of the party.

Recall that last month, President Buhari said the tenure elongation for the party's NEC officials will not continue because it is against the party's constitution.

Speaking with journalists after their meeting with President Buhari, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State said,

“Gentlemen of the press, you know yesterday, we left you in the dark after the meeting and today, we have seen so many captions that there is disagreement between the governors over the issue of party Chairman or about the party leadership. No. We had a meeting with Mr. President yesterday (Tuesday), and we extended the meeting today and we followed up with the consultations with the president now. We consulted and all the 24 governors of the APC are on the same page with Mr. President that we are going to respect our party constitution, we are going to respect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. So, therefore, we collectively agreed that we will have congresses at all levels – local, state and national” he said

President Buhari to proceed on private visit to London next week Monday

President Buhari is scheduled to depart for London, the United Kingdom, on a private visit next week Monday April 9th. A source in the Presidency says that the trip is to enable the president attend to some private matters which cannot be disclosed publicly.

While in London, President Buhari will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to hold from April 15 to 20 in London.

When contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, declined to confirm or deny the reports. Recall that last year, President Buhari was in London for several months where he received treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

''No cache of dollars or any other foreign currencies was found in any of Goodluck Jonathan's homes'' Reno Omokri

Former media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has denied media reports that a cache of dollars was found recently in one of the homes of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

A video showing some police officers purportedly in one of the homes of the former president where a cache of dollars was found, has been circulating on social media.

Reno says there is no truth to the video. Read his statement below

On The Desperate Attempts by High Profile Persons to Link Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to Corruption

My attention has been drawn to a viral video, initially circulated by agents of the All Progressive Congress led Federal Government, and purported to be videos of a police raid of the home of former President Goodluck Jonathan, and in which huge sums of money was found.

Let it be known that no police officers or any other security agents have stormed any of the residences of former President Jonathan and no cache of dollars or any other foreign currencies have been found in any of his residences and indeed none can be found because no such stash exists.

Nigerians may want to recall that there was a curious burglary of the former President’s house in 2017. The motive of that incident or who was behind it may never truly come to light until some time in the future, but even during that burglary, no monies were discovered in the house and only sundry properties and electronics were stolen.

It will also be recalled that on March 7, 2014, then President Jonathan declared to Nigerians as follows “I am loyal to Nigeria’s economy. I don’t have accounts or property abroad.”

That declaration remains true today as it was then. Furthermore, the former President, in keeping with the cashless Policy which his administration introduced and fully implemented, does not keep huge sums of cash at his residence.

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is a modest man and whatever he has by way of cash and property are the result of his legitimate earnings.

He is the most investigated living former President in Nigeria’s history. That nothing implicating has been found on him should not lead his traducers to become desperate and fabricate evidence and circulate it as propaganda.

I urge Nigerians to be on the alert to fake news circulated by desperadoes via WhatsApp and other social media platforms and intended to malign the good name of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Finally, I advise anyone willing to take my advise that the only way to make progress in Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index is to fight corruption and not the opposition and to do the fighting in the courts and not in the media.

That is how the Jonathan administration was able to achieve Nigeria’s best ever performance on Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index in 2014 when Nigeria improved by eight places from 144 to 136.

''It is unfair to say anyone that joined APC from PDP is a looter'' Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has reacted to speculations that the party is shielding PDP members that decamped to APC before the 2015 general election.

Shortly after releasing the controversial looters list which had mostly PDP members, the opposition party, PDP, in a statement, alleged that some of its members such as Rotimi Amaechi who decamped from PDP to APC and has been accused of looting the Rivers state treasury to fund the APC presidential campaign in 2015, is being shielded by the party.

In an interview with newsmen in Lagos, the Minister said the allegation is baseless and that is is very unfair to tag every PDP decampee to APC a looter. According to him, the allegation against the decampees is not established.

''There is a difference between allegations and established cases. All the cases I have mentioned (alleged PDP looters) are already in court. You see, how many times have people written that Lai Mohammed has billions of dollars. But, these are allegations that are just ridiculous. I can assure you that if there is any allegation against any member of this government, this government will investigate it. It would be unfair to say that everybody that joined APC from PDP is a looter; it would be unfair. I am saying that, whether you are of ACN stock or PDP stock or CPC stock and you are found to be corrupt, you will be investigated.

On why he released the controversial looters list, Lai Mohammed said

''We were challenged to do so. Don’t forget that on their own, the PDP said that they apologised to Nigerians for the way they ran Nigeria aground and we said, yes, apology is accepted, but, please return the funds. One of them challenged us to name those who had stolen money. I think gradually, it is becoming fashionable when you remind PDP that they brought us to this sorry path, they will say stop talking about what we did, please, continue with your own. But, we cannot move. It is important that Nigerians remember how we got here and the same people who have made no atonement say that they want to come back in 2019 to power. So, it is important for us to remind them. Let me tell you, this government is not in any panic. We are so proud of our acheivements that, in less than three years, I can stand up and say this is what we have achieved in the area of insecurity, this is what we have achieved in the economy, in the area of ease of doing business. There is no area we have not made our mark. We lifted Nigeria from number 165 in the ease of doing business to 145. It is not a mean feat. And we exited recession at a time when the price of crude was low. We were in recession when we implemented the diversification of the economy. It is on record that, despite all these challenges that we have not retrenched one person. So, why should we be afraid? Why should we panic? I don’t see any reason why we should panic. I think it is the imagination of people that the government is panicky. No.

The Minister said although the courts has to decide if the alleged looters are guilty or not, it is an established fact that many of those on the looters list did deep their hands in the national treasury when they were in office

''That is the business of the court. I am saying that on the 24th of February, Secondus took N100 million in cash. The then National Financial Secretary took N700 million. These are facts. They said name, and I said these are the people that were reported to have stolen money. So, what is prejudicial about it? Let them go and solve their matters in court, but if you challenge us to name names, we will name names'' he said
