Khafi and Gedoni flaunt their 'wedding rings' as they vacation in London for her birthday

 

Khafi and Gedoni were pictured in London after the couple flew there for Khafi's birthday.

 

Khafi said it was her birthday wish and Gedoni made it happen.

 

 

In the photos taken in London, the couple who met while they were housemates in the Big Brother Naija 2019 reality show, is seen sporting rings on their wedding ring fingers.

 

 

Though they haven't made a formal announcement, they have been dropping hints that they are married and Khafi has been flaunting her ring for weeks now.

 

 

Khafi and Gedoni got engaged last year and were supposed to get married earlier this year but they announced in April that they were cancelling their wedding plans because of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

It appears they eventually had their wedding ceremony weeks ago.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s media aide, Salihu Tanko Yakasai a.k.a Dawisu has called for the arrest of Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Godfrey Igwebuike Onah over a viral sermon he claimed was inciting. 

 

Onah had decried an alleged discrimination in handling of security cases in the north and in the south. He backed up this claim by recounting the clash between IPOB members and DSS operatives in Enugu state.

 

The Catholic bishop also alleged that mosques are springing up in the east, while it is allegedly difficult to get lands to build churches in some states and the northern region of the country. 

 

 

Reacting to the cleric's comment, Dawisu called on security operatives to arrest the Catholic bishop. He stated that one cannot use a place of worship be it Mosque or a Church and incite violence. 

 

Dawisu tweeted; 

 

This will be a good scapegoat for security operatives to make example of. You CANNOT use place of worship be it Mosque or a Church and incite violence particularly that of religion in a country like ours, and then get away with it. I call for the arrest & prosecution of this man

 

 

 

 

Our critical documents are safe - NPA MD, Hadiza Bala-Usman speaks on attack at agency's headquarters

 

The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman has stated that the attack on the agency's headquarters during the violence that erupted during the #EndSARS crisis in Lagos, did not affect critical documents. 

 

The NPA MD who disclosed this while addressing journalists after an on-the-spot assessment of the damage at the headquarters, said critical information, finance and payment documents of the authority were not tampered with during the fire incident at its headquarters.

 

Hadiza said; 

 

“What is paramount is that our services were not interrupted. Our network and our systems have been functional. Within two days of the incident, we’ve been able to resume. All port operations continued within 24 hours of the attack.

“We were able to ensure that critical information and documents are safe. All our financing and payment systems have been protected and were not in any way affected."

 

Recounting how the attack occurred, the NPA boss said the hoodlums came in their numbers holding knives, daggers and were attacking security personnel at the building.

 

She added; 

 

“They disarmed the security people and gained access to the premises where they torched so many places, burnt 27 vehicles, and a whole wing of a building was also torched.

“We were able to get the support of the Nigerian armed forces and they were able to apprehend six of the hoodlums who are with the Nigerian Navy undergoing interrogation, and necessary actions will commence within the necessary judiciary provision."

 

Hadiza also disclosed that operations have resumed in earnest with loss adjusters stepping up with an assessment and subsequent replacement of burnt items.

EFCC interrogates ex-FIRS chairman, Tunde Fowler, over alleged N100bn tax evasion fraud leveled against Alpha Beta consulting

 

A former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS, Babatunde Fowler, is currently being interrogated by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC over the N100 billion tax evasion allegations levelled against a tax firm known as Alpha Beta Consulting.

 

Fowler, a long-time ally of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, and also a close friend of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, arrived at the EFCC Lagos office this morning.

 

Fowler was invited for questioning after a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Beta Consulting, Dapo Apara, petitioned the antigraft agency, accusing the firm of tax fraud to the tune of N100bn.

 

In the petition which was filed in 2018 and signed by his counsel Adetunji Shoyoye and Associates, Apara stated that Alpha Beta, the firm given exclusive rights to monitor and collect Internally Generated Revenue on behalf of the Lagos Government, “has become an avenue for official corruption of government officials, a conduit pipe for the massive money-laundering scheme, tax evasion, among other vices.” Apara also alleged that the fraud had been covered by powerful politicians in the state.

 

The petition reads in part

“Over the years the company has been protected and shielded by some powerful politicians and people in the society which made them to always boast of being untouchable, but our client, feeling the need not to keep quiet again and strengthened by his belief in the fact that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is keen on fighting corruption, which has been the bane of our country, is of the firm belief that it’s time to expose and open the can of worms called Alpha Beta Consulting.”

 

 

Fowler's tenure as chairman of EFCC expired in December 2019 and was not renewed by President Buhari. 

 

President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu, in an interview granted in December 2019, disclosed that Fowler's tenure as FIRS Chairman was not renewed over his inability to generate enough revenue for the country.

 

It is not yet certain if he will be released or detained after today's interrogation.
