''President Buhari hasn’t run any successful business in his life'' - Atiku says

PDP presidential candidate for the February 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has described President Buhari as a failure who has never run any successful business enterprise in his life.

Atiku said this while replying the comment made by the spokesperson of the APC, Yekini Nabena, who in a statement released, questioned Atiku's source of wealth.

Atiku in his response released by his media organization, reminded the APC that the former president has run more successful business enterprises unlike President Buhari.

“We wish to remind APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, that Atiku Abubakar is not like President Buhari who has never run a successful private business throughout his life.

Unlike Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar is an expert job creator who has founded many successful and thriving businesses including the American University of Nigeria, Yola; a microfinance bank that has moved 45,000 families out of poverty and Rica Gado, a livestock feed company that has significantly reduced instances of herdsmen/farmers clashes by providing a business-friendly solution instead of asking Nigerians to give up their lands for cattle ranching or face death, as the Buhari government did.” the statement read

Atiku urged the Buhari Presidency and the APC to mention even one successful private endeavour that the President had successfully run.

“By private enterprises, we are not referring to 150 cows that never increase in number, year in year out,” the statement read

Hundreds of passengers stranded as Aviation unions shut down Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos

This morning, hundreds of passengers are reportedly stranded at the domestic terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2(MMA2) as aviation unions carried out their shutdown threat over the sack of workers by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.

The unions involved in the shutdown are Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE).

They disregarded a Federal High Court order granted Tuesday restraining them from disrupting the operations of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2). The court granted the order in the suit filed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of MMA2.

The unions had given notice that they would disrupt operations at MMA2 from today over the disengagement of some workers of BASL who they said were disengaged for their alleged attempt to join them, but who the company said had attained retirement age or were found not to be diligent in their duties.

BASL said on Tuesday that: “we will like to bring it to the attention of the entire public that the Federal High Court in Lagos in suit number FHC/L/CS/16412/18 has granted an order restraining the unions from carrying out their threats of disrupting the activities of the terminal. Pursuit to this order, members if the unions found in the premises of MMA2 would be liable to trespass. We reserve our right under the law of Nigeria to deal with such person as a trespasser”.

BASL also assured customers and passengers of MMA2 that they will continue having seamless access to the facility. The statement said: “BASL is fully aware of the plan by some unions in the aviation sector to disrupt the operations of MMA2 over our decision to disengage some employees.

Disengaging the ex-employees had nothing to do with unionism, as we were not aware of this. In as much as we know that the unions have the right to protest without disturbing public peace and safety, we too reserve the right to ensure that our operations and services are not interrupted in any way whatsoever”

American students can now get a certificate in ‘Trumpaganda, as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign begins a course on the subject.

According to a report by TheHill.com, students will examine Trump’s “war on facts, press and democracy,” during the eight-week course. The class will be offered through the university’s journalism program.

“As a candidate, Trump employed the most common propaganda device, name-calling, to define, degrade, discredit and destroy his primary opponents as well as the “fake” news media,” the course description reads.

Mira Sotirovic, associate professor in media, is teaching the class, and told the Daily Illini that students will look at President Trump’s strategies for dealing with the press to look how propaganda can exist in a democracy. “Propaganda is effective only if it is concealed and camouflaged as something else, such as news, advertisements or PR releases, and it is critical to learn how to detect propaganda and recognise propagandistic features of any communication, including presidential,” Sotirovic told the paper.

The wedding was held at a private home in exclusive Hidden Hills, California, the same affluent suburb of Los Angeles where Kim Kardashian and Kanye West live.

Her parents, Stanford and Sheila, live in Hidden Hills but it was unclear if it was at their home.

Engelson, a film producer, 41, popped the question to Kurland in California's Napa Valley in June, two weeks after his ex-wife, Meghan Markle, 37, married Prince Harry, 34.

"Luckiest guy I know," Engelson captioned a celebratory Instagram announcing the news. "Get ready to party!"

The couple began dating in November 2017.

“I will never, ever go to APC and will never ever have anything to do with the party'' - Fayose vows

The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has said that he won’t leave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the All Progressives Congress APC, advising the ruling party to bury the notion.

Fayose stated this while reacting to a statement by the Ekiti Chairman of APC, Paul Omotoso, who said Fayose was not wanted in the party. Recall that the governor on Monday hinted he was thinking of leaving PDP following the outcome of the recent National convention which saw ATiku Abubakar clinching the presidential ticket.

Reacting to claims that he was not wanted in APC if he leaves PDP, Governor Fayose said

“APC my foot! I will never have anything to do with APC. For the party’s leaders to be saying that Fayose is coming to APC amounts to unnecessary dissipation of energy. I will never, ever, go to APC and will never ever have anything to do with the party,” he vowed.
