Nicki Minaj blames her 'abrasive' behaviour on her father after witnessing his violent attitude towards her mother

Nicki Minaj has claimed that her father is the reason for her 'abrasive' character after witnessing his violence attitude towards her mother when she was a child.

In her upcoming Queen documentary, the 35-year-old rapper revealed how her father's behaviour towards her mother contributed to her own personality.

An emotional Nicki said: 'I remember when my mother would let my father be violent with her, and she always brings up this story.'

Spreading her arms wide, she added: 'As a little girl, I would stand in front of my mother, and go like this.

'That's why I'm like, maybe some people would describe me as abrasive, or b**chy or whatever, because I vowed from that age, no man would ever be with me and call me out my name, treat me like that ... And then all of the sudden, that was my life.'

Also discussing her own abusive relationship, she disclosed how it caused her to lose self-confidence.

She said: 'Who was I going to inspire when I had nothing in me to give? I let one human being make me so low, that I didn't even remember who I was.

'I was scared to get in the studio. I didn't believe in myself.'

Nicki who is rumoured to be dating Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, recently admitted that she would like to get married first before having a child.

She explained: 'I've got to get married first, then I'll have a child. I might be closer than people think actually. I love children. I'm not going to put that off for much longer.'

Breaking: APC expels Senator Ovie Omo-Agege with immediate effect

Fresh reports from the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Cyril Abeye Ogodo indicates that the party has expelled Ovie Omo-Agege, the senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly and factional senatorial candidate in the 2019 general election.

Rising from an emergency meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC ) in Asaba on Wednesday, the party said its decision to expel Omo Agege from the party followed his “unabated involvement in anti-party activities”.

A statement titled ‘Delta APC Expels Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’, signed by the party’s Legal Adviser, Dennis Nwanokwai Esq, and obtained by SaharaReporters, noted that the senator’s expulsion is with immediate effect.

"The latest of such activities relates to the hijack of primaries panel members and materials sent from the national secretariat to conduct primaries in the state and deploying same to conduct unauthorised parallel primaries.

Others are the manipulation and tampering of delegates’ lists and the use of thugs to harass and deprive authentic delegates from access to primaries venues, all that in conjunction with Prophet Jones Erue and others who have earlier been expelled from our party.

The expulsion of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is with immediate effect. The SWC also resolved to petition the security services, including the Police and DSS to arrest and prosecute Senator Omo-Agege, Prophet Jones Erue and others for impersonation and others actions calculated to breach public peace” the party stated.

It was however learned that the Ogboru/Omo-Agege faction of the APC led by Jones Erue had also slammed the state leader of the party and the 2015 Delta State governorship candidate of the party, and the party's senatorial candidate in the 2019 general elections, O'tega Emerhor, with expulsion over same offence for which Omo-Agege was thrown out of the party.

Househelp moves Facebook users as she narrates what she's had to endure from her bosses, including being sexually assaulted by a pastor

A househelp's tale of the sufferings she's had to endure from her bosses has generated sympathy and outrage from social media users.

The 20-year-old lady who began working as a house help when she was still a teenager said she's been sexually assaulted by her male bosses. The wife of one of the men made her feel it was her fault and maltreated her as a result. She escaped when the man tried to rape her.

Sadly, her experience as a househelp in Lagos didn't get any better. One of her employers who was a pastor also tried to rape her.

Sharing her story with Humans of New York, she said:

“I want to live a happy life. I’m tired of living a poor life. I’m trying to save money for school but nothing is working. I’ve left home three different times looking for work. The first time I found a job as a housekeeper. But every morning when I got dressed the man would try to touch me. I was only seventeen. He wouldn’t even stop when I threatened to tell on him. His wife blamed me for his attention. She beat me severely. There were bruises all over my body. She didn’t even allow me to eat. But I tried to stay because I wanted to go to school so badly. Then one morning he tried to rape me in the bath, and I finally ran away. When I found a new housekeeping job, the same thing happened. This time it was a pastor. So a few weeks ago I switched to a cleaning job at an art gallery. But they just fired me for speaking to the visitors. I don’t know why this always happens to me. It makes me so angry. I get mad at my parents for being poor. I get mad at my friends for going to school. When I see their graduation pictures on Facebook, I just start crying. I’m already twenty years old. I should be finishing school, but I haven’t even started yet. But everything has it’s own time. Hopefully my time will come too.”

Read the ''reason'' Governor Ambode conceded defeat and congratulated Sanwo-Olu

Yesterday, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, had a state broadcast in which he reacted to the controversial APC governorship primary held in the state on Tuesday October 2nd.

In his speech, Governor Ambode conceded defeat in the primary which was contested by himself and his main rival Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Ambode congratulated Sanwo-Olu and urged all the party members to give the party flagbearer all the support he deserves to win the election in 2019.

New facts have emerged as to why the governor conceded defeat. A source in the party who spoke with Punch, said Governor Ambode was advised by the chieftains of the party, to accept defeat or the state House of Assembly who have also thrown their support behind Sanwo-Olu, would set in motion his impeachment process if he decided to fight dirty.

''“He (Ambode) did not want the matter to get to that level; that is why he accepted the defeat to reduce the tension in the state and stop any panicky action by the party elders. He also wanted them to leave him in peace to complete all his projects,” the source said

Lagos court sentence man to 10 years imprisonment for stabbing his brother to death over a woman

A 28-year-old man, Collins Abakwe, has been arraigned before an Ikeja High Court for stabbing his younger brother, Chibuike Abakwe, to death during an argument over a woman.

The lead prosecutor in the state, Mrs O. A. Olugasa, told the court that Collins and Chibuike on Valentine's day February 14th 2013, got into a heated argument at their home on Adeyanju street, Amukoko after a friend's girlfriend wanted to pass the night in their house.

“Collins stabbed his younger brother, Chibuike, to death with a broken bottle during an argument. The siblings were arguing over a friend’s girlfriend who was trying to pass the night in their home. The misunderstanding became very violent and Collins ended up stabbing his younger brother, resulting in his death,” she said.

Olugasa said the offence contravened sections 221 and 227 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011.

The initial charge of murder against Collins was converted to manslaughter following a plea bargain agreement the convict had with the state judiciary in 2013 when he was first arraigned. Following the plea bargain agreement, Collins was re-arraigned yesterday Wednesday October 3rd but he pleaded not guilty to an amended charge of manslaughter.

“The court is satisfied with the jail term agreed upon by the prosecution and defence counsel. The defendant is hereby sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment,” Adebiyi said.

Before handing down the sentence, Adebiyi enquired from the convict whether he understood the meaning of the agreement he had entered into.

The convict, replying in the affirmative, told the court that he signed the agreement himself.
