Taking place simultaneously at Epe, Ikorodu, Agege, Badagry and Victoria Island, for 8 straight days, the extraordinary entertainment festival has attracted hundreds of thousands of adults and children from all over the state.

The first day of One Lagos Fiesta kicked off on a fantastic note on Christmas Eve as Nigerian artistes and music legends turned up to make the opening day a memorable one in all the five locations across Lagos.

One Lagos Fiesta, which made its debut in 2015 is spread across the five divisions of Lagos, and has been running daily from 12 mid-day to 12 midnight.

So far, the 8-day long event has been graced by a wide array of artistes from different genres including rappers MI, Phyno, Reminisce, Lil Kesh, Seriki, as well as pop stars and vocalists such as Adekunle Gold, Mayorkun, Olu Maintain, Dremo, Niniola, Eedris Abdulkareem, Klever Jay, Kenny Saint Best, Azadus, Tony Tetuila, Jazzman Olofin, Wale Thompson, Minjin, Lanre Teriba, Busola Oke (Eleyele), Oluwaseun Rantiola, Atawewe, Valentine, Oladips, Olori of Africa and more.

Music legends like Salawa Abeni, Adewale Ayuba, Sir Shina Peters, Ebenezer Obey and his son, Tolu Obey, as well as Stella Monye have also honoured Lagosians by performing classic hits and some of their most memorable songs.

Also, cultural groups like the Lagos State Council of Arts and Culture, Meshico Sax Traditional band, and the Awori Troupe have been present at some of the locations, entertaining the audience with traditional dances, plays and pantomime.

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has made surprise appearances so far in four out of five of the locations, not only to encourage Lagosians to be highly optimistic about the incoming year but to also make important announcements.

In the historic town of Badagry, the Governor promised a state of the art cinema to be completed within the next 18 months. According to him, the construction of the cinema would create employment opportunities for Badagry youth, while also boosting the tourism potential of the region which is already popular for popular tourist sites such as the Slave Museum, Nigeria’s first storey building and many more.

Ambode also went ahead to announce readiness of Lagos State Government to offer amnesty to cultists willing to renounce their membership of cult groups and turn over a new leaf – an effort by the government to ensure that 2017 is a great year of security for all its stakeholders.

Trump set to repeal many of Obama's laws and policies as soon as he takes office

The US president-elect is yet to be sworn in but he is already taking a wrecking ball to Obama's legacy. This is according to his chief press secretary, Sean Spicer who made a series of revelations during an appearance on ABC's This Week. Spicer told host, Jonathan Karl, that the future Commander-in-chief will 'sign a series of executive orders' on day one, so he can do two things.

The first, Spicer said, will be to 'repeal a lot of the regulations and actions that have been taken by this administration over the last eight years that have hampered both economic growth and job creation.' He added that the second thing Trump will do is bring in 'forward thinking.'
Spicer said Trump will 'bring a new brand to Washington,' by implementing a five-year lobbying ban or a lifetime ban on anyone who wants to serve a foreign government.
'If you want to serve in a Trump administration, you’re going to serve this country, not yourself,' Spicer said.

No specific policies or laws were mentioned but Obamacare could be in Trump's line of fire along with the Transpacific trade deal.
Spicer also revealed Trump won't slow down on his use of social media even though the president elect said in a previous interview that he'll cut back on his tweeting once in office. Spicer said the platform allows Trump to have a 'direct conversation' with the public that isn't 'funneled through the media.'

'The fact of the matter is that, when he tweets, he gets results.
'So whether it’s Twitter, holding a news conference, picking up the phone, having a meeting, he is going to make sure that he continues to fight for the American people every single day.'
Hang on America, it's not going to be a smooth ride.

Mike Adenuga's net worth increased by $2.7 billion in 2016, while Dangote's decreased by $5billion

Billionaire Nigerian oil and telecom tycoon, Mike Adenuga, got richer in 2016. According to Forbes Magazine, his net worth increased $2.7 billion to $5.8 billion since December 31, 2015 and no other African billionaire added more than $1 billion to his or her net worth in the past year.

Meanwhile, Aliko Dangote, who is still the richest man in Africa has lost more than half his networth of 2014. He was worth $25billion in 2014 but worth $12.4 billion by the end of 2016...

According to Forbes

While Aliko Dangote is still Africa’s richest man by far, he’s not as rich as he used to be. In February 2014, his fortune hit an all-time high of $25 billion. Today, he’s just worth half of that. FORBES estimates that he is currently , down from $17.2 billion this time last year on the back of a Central Bank devaluation of the Naira, Nigeria’s currency, in June. Having shed $4.8 billion off his fortune within the last 12 months, Dangote is Africa’s biggest billionaire loser in dollar terms in 2016
On Mike Adenuga

"The increase in Adenuga’s net worth is largely due to new information Forbes obtained in 2016 about the value of his assets. Adenuga owns Nigerian telecom company Globacom and Nigerian oil company Conoil Producing. While Adenuga's net worth has increased since the beginning of 2016, it has dropped significantly since March 2016, when FORBES valued his fortune at $10 billion on the 2016 Billionaires List. Since then, his net worth has dropped $4.2 billion, due to the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira and the country's struggling oil sector. Adenuga was the only Nigerian billionaires whose net worth increased this year. (Aliko Dangote, the richest Nigerian and Africa's richest man, saw his fortune drop nearly 28% to $12.4 billion over the course of 2016.)"

'Marriage isn't supposed to be a battle field, protect your kids by making the right discussion' - Tonto Dikeh advices ladies

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh Churchill, took to Instagram to react to the report of a woman who was beaten and stabbed in her private parts by her husband, for allegedly cheating on him with a teenage boy. She wrote:
"This is all too confusing. Where is it in the Bible that says it's ok to beatup your spouse? How long do we keep forgiving and living a lie all in the name of our children. The SAME children if not removed from an abusive environment will grow up to be the Abuser THEMselves. A man who hits a woman today has over time watched it happen before. It could never be a first time event half the time. Protect your Children by making the right discussion for them. Marriage isn't supposed to be a battle field and even if it were, Men pick someone your own size..

How long do we keep look and listening to society telling us how to live our lives? Same society that would blame you tomorrow if something tragic happens. Society please be kind to women, give us the respect, care and protection we deserve..
MEN WOULD YOU LOVE TO SEE YOUR MOTHERS OR SISTERS BE TREATED THIS WAY??? THEN WHY DO IT TO US?? Listen it absolutely doesn't matter what a woman does to you,you have various options to walk away. Not pose like a boxer in a ring with mayweather..
A man who truly loves his wife won't dare lay a finger on her. There are so many ways to resolve marital conflicts and violence does no good...
