The spirit did not bring any money - Prophet who aided in killing and eating of LASU final year student

Segun Philip, the white-garment church Prophet who colloborated with Adeeko Owolabi and his mother Bola in killing of a final-year student of the Lagos State University (LASU) Favour Daley-Oladele, has revealed that the money-ritual they embarked on did not work out.

The Pastor disclosed that he went through the money ritual process with Owolabi without the knowledge of his mother upon being paraded before newsmen.

He said;

“What Owolabi and I discussed is that when they use the concoction once, the money will come once, but his mother doesn’t know that; we just told her that when she uses it, she will be receiving contracts from everywhere.

“But the spirit did not bring money at all, the ritual did not work."

23-year-old Owolabi who expressed regrets over the sad act, said;

“There was a well there already which the church was planning on using but they abandoned it for years. It was there we put the remaining part of her body then I covered it with sand.

Owolabi said that “my dad has lost his job for some years and my mum has been the one helping the family; she also lost her job, but she started doing some contract jobs. After some time, she stopped receiving contracts.

“From that day, I started regretting my action, even before we were arrested.”

The emotional father of the money ritual victim, said they all looked forward to Favour becoming the first female graduate in the house.

He said;

“It is quite emotional, having raised that girl for that number of years; Favour happens to be a golden girl to the family. We waited for some years before having her, she went to school and when we envisaged that in a few months, she will be going for her NYSC, and start celebrating a female graduate in the house, then some people conspire to kill her is touching.

“All we want is justice for Favour and I believe it will serve as a deterrent to others who are in this kind of thing."

Mariah Carey becomes first artist in history to have a number one song in four different decades

After topping the charts for the last few weeks with her trademark holiday hit, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Mariah will remain number one for another week and that will officially make her the first artist in history to have a number one song in four different decades.

The 49-year-old singer on Monday became the first-ever performer to score singles that hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list over four decades - the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.

The song's number one status for the third consecutive week comes for the week of January 4, 2020, making her the first performer of the decade to lead the chart, Billboard said Monday.

The Grammy-winning singer first released the Christmas Classic in 1994 on her album Merry Christmas, and re-released it this year with an updated video to coincide with its 25th anniversary.

25 years after its release, the song's path to the top spot is the longest in the history of the chart.

It hit the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for the weeks of December 21 and December 28, and also set holiday streaming records, according to Billboard.

With the number one hit, Mariah surpassed a list of artists who had past achieved the feat in three decades: Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Usher.

Carey has now racked up 19 number one hits over the course of her career, garnering her first number one hit with Vision of Love in August of 1990, just eight months short of another decade in the 1980s. Carey has also had 10 songs to remain at number one for three or more weeks - surpassing The Beatles and Rihanna in another record-setting feat - according to the outlet.

Donald Trump and Barack Obama tied as the most admired men US for 2019 while Michelle Obama is the most admired woman - New Gallup Poll

A new Gallup survey released on Monday, December 30th found President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama tied as the most admired man of 2019.

However, Trump’s wife Melania failed to match the popularity of Obama’s wife, Michelle, who was named as the most admired woman for the second year. She had 10 percent of respondents naming her, down from 15 percent last year. Melania Trump came in second at 5 percent.

This is the first year Trump has risen to the top spot in the annual survey and the 12th year for Obama. Each was named by 18 percent of respondents to the open-ended survey conducted December 2-15.

Obama tied former President Dwight Eisenhower for the most times named as most admired man since the survey began in 1948.

The survey reflected the political divide in the nation, with 41 percent of Democrats naming Obama and 45 percent of Republicans naming Trump. The results also reflect Trump’s rise in popularity, with a 45 percent job approval rating up from 40 percent in 2018 and 36 percent in 2017, Gallup noted.

The incumbent president has taken the top spot in 58 of the 72 prior Gallup polls. Other men in the Top 10 this year were former President Jimmy Carter, businessman Elon Musk, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, California Rep. Adam Schiff, the Dalai Lama and investor Warren Buffett, though none earned mentions from more than 2 percent of respondents.

Among women, talk show host Oprah Winfrey, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg tied with mentions from 3 percent of respondents, followed by Queen Elizabeth II, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

BBNaija's Frodd reminisces on the past couple of years and how he depleted his savings until he had to beg

As the year 2019 comes to an end and a new one is about to begin, former Big Brother Naija reality star, Frodd took to Instagram to reminisce.

He narrated how he came into Lagos from Aba at the start of 2016 with enough money. His plan was to travel abroad in a few months. He got a house in Lekki and also got a car. Soon his savings depleted and he had to move to an area where the houses are cheaper. By 2018, he had little money left and had to move to an even cheaper neighborhood.
