Oge Kimono who is also a reggae musician said “I know that many people love my late father and are willing to celebrate him in different ways. A foundation in the name of my father is a serious project that needs proper consultation with all my siblings and key people connected with the Kimono legacy'.
She added that, 'It should never be a project for a quick buck. For the avoidance of doubt, I will not be in Asaba for the purported lunch of the so called foundation which does not have my endorsement'.

Photos: Nigerian father of two allegedly tortured to death by South African Police
Another Nigerian national, Maxwell Ikechukwu Okoye, has allegedly been killed by members of the South African Police Service in Ladysmith, Kwa-zulu-Natal Province.
The Vice-President, Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr Joshua Ogade Itua, who confirmed the incident in Pretoria said that the 39-year-old father of two, from Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, was allegedly tortured to death in the early hours of Friday.
According to the Chairman of Nigerian Union South Africa, Ladysmith Chapter, the Police came to the deceased apartment and forced their way in.
“While they were with him, he called to alert other Nigerians but before they could get to his apartment the police had made away with his body. Maxwell’s lifeless body was later seen at the mortuary,” he said.
Itua said that NUSA leaders then went to the police for fact finding, noting that his death has added to the number of Nigerians that were killed either by the Police or through Xenophobia in that country.
“The Station Commander of Ladysmith claimed that he was met foaming as at the time they gained entrance to his apartment. Police murder inquest has been opened and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) in Kwa-zulu-Natal province have been informed for full investigation. Our condolence to his family and Nigerian Community in Ladysmith. We call on our government to seriously engage its counterparts in South Africa for investigation and prosecution if not a natural death. This is because, according to our leaders who went to the mortuary, there are bruises and blood all over his body, hence, we have every reason to believe that he was tortured to death. Our stand as foremost Nigerian organisation in South Africa is that all cases involving the killings of Nigerians should be investigated and prosecuted irrespective the nationality and status of the perpetrators,” he said.
David Cruz, a Nigerian in Ladysmith, Kwa-zulu-Natal posted photos of the deceased today.

Count one of the charge reads: "That you, Jamiu Isiaka (a.k.a Femi Adesina ) between the month of April and September 2018 in Ilorin, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, with intent to defraud, did obtain the total sum of $88,521,041 (Eighty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred And Twenty One Dollars, Forty-one cents] from a Korean national, Keun Sig Kim by false pretences that the monies was for the procurement of NNPC approval/marketing form and license certificate to buy crude oil in Nigeria, facts which you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act."

Nigerian-born President of Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri under investigation for allegedly assaulting a Deputy after Championship Win (watch video)
Nigerian-born President of Toronto Raptors president, Masai Ujiri is under investigation for allegedly pushing a sheriff's deputy who stopped him from going to celebrate his team's NBA Finals win against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
The incident occurred when Ujiri attempted to enter the court for the post-game celebration without proper credentials, Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office told CBS San Francisco.
Police described the incident as "a push that went upward and struck him [the deputy] in the face." Ujiri eventually made his way onto the court for the celebration with the help of Raptors guard Kyle Lowry. Kelly said deputies decided it wasn't in their best interest to arrest Ujiri on national television as he celebrated his team's championship.
Ujiri is being investigated for suspicion of misdemeanor battery on an officer. No arrest has been made, but the sheriff's department will submit a complaint to the Raptors and local prosecutors, Kelly said.
