Governor Obaseki replaces Adams Oshiomhole’s local government chairman in Edo State

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has sworn-in Imonofi Osumah Inusa as the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government, after Yakubu Musa, the erstwhile chairman was removed. Musa was removed over his alleged involvement in N46 million fraud in the council.

Obaseki, while swearing-in Osumah at Government House, in Benin City, said that investigations by a panel constituted by the state government alleged that the former LG boss, Musa, was engaged in fraudulent activities and lacked the ability to supervise the staff of the Council.

The governor maintained that his administration has zero-tolerance for corruption and negligence of duty, noting that no matter the developmental efforts by the state government, the local government must perform their duties before the state can be highly rated in terms of development.

“With the permission and authorisation of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), we dropped Yakubu Musa for engaging in corrupt activities. He was dropped based on the investigation conducted following reports and observations at the monthly Joint Account Allocation Committee meetings I preside over.”

Fayose’s N1.2bn was transported with two aircraft to Ekiti – Witness tells court

A former head of Zenith Bank branch in Akure, Ondo State, Sunday Alade, told the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, October 23rd that it took 10 days to count the N1.2bn delivered to the bank in June 2014 by Abiodun Agbele, an ally of former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.

Alade was in court to testify against Fayose, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged fraud of N2.2bn. Alade, who was fielding questions from the EFCC lawyer, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), narrated to Justice C.J. Aneke, how the N1.2bn was allegedly evacuated from two aircraft and taken in two trips in a bullion van to the bank for lodgment as instructed by Agbele.

He said, “When the aircraft arrived, three individuals disembarked from it, two of them walked away while the third person walked to Abiodun Agbele. After a short interaction, we were left to offload the cash from the aircraft.

“One Adewale O who introduced himself as the orderly to Senator Obanikoro led us to offload the cash. When we got to the branch, we bundle-counted the cash and it was about N744m.

“We were told there was a balance and we went back to the airport to pick the second batch from the aircraft into our bullion van. The second tranche was about N494m, making a total of N1.2bn. The money was detail-counted by the Cash and Teller Unit for 10 days before it was credited into three different accounts.”

A senior official of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Aliu Mohammed, who also testified against Fayose, told the court how N2.2bn was allegedly transferred from the operational account of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to the Diamond bank’s account of a firm, Sylva Mcmanara.

Couple attempt to recreate photo during their engagement photoshoot but it goes wrong

A couple who are planning their wedding in 2020 decided to have a photoshoot ahead of their wedding but it didn't turn out as they planned.

Alyssa Snodsmith, 23, and Collin Hewett, 24, who met while studying at university in Chicago, Illinois, decided to celebrate their engagement in style. After getting engaged in August 2019, they set their wedding for June 2020 and began putting things in place for their wedding.

An engagement photoshoot was part of the things they had planned. Alyssa went on Pinterest for inspiration for the perfect photo and she found one taken by photographer Brianna Bender which she decided to recreate. However, she and her fiance soon found out that getting the perfect photo is harder than it looks.

The Pinterest photo

Alyssa and Collin scheduled a photoshoot with their photographer friend Chandler Lefever. They got the perfect location, hoping to imitate another couple’s Insta-worthy shot where the man is seen pouring champagne effortlessly into the woman’s mouth. When Alyssa and Collin tried it, they made a whole mess and their photos ended up looking nothing like what they wanted to recreate.

The photographer saw the hilarious side of the photo and didn't want to inform the couple that they had botched the photoshoot till he edited it. Once they saw it, they were entertained as they saw the funny side to it too.

Collin shared the picture on Twitter where it immediately went viral.

He captioned the photos: "So me and Alyssa took our engagement pictures yesterday. She found a Pinterest picture that she wanted to try and recreate…I botched it."

Collin told Metro.co.uk: "We love our version! It just shows who we really are! We’re always having fun and joking around and it was cool that it got captured. Neither of us ever got annoyed or upset… thankfully. We just laughed it off and embraced the fact that nothing is ever going to be perfect!"
