Zoro - Ogene (Remix) ft. Flavour, Lil Kesh & YCee

It is by our culture that we, Igbos, are given our identity among comity of ethnicities all over the world, and that is why we, as Igbo people, collectively work together to preserve the Igbo culture and traditions. A tribe without a strong cultural base will go into extinction sooner than later. It is because we consciously and unconsciously socialize our children to live their individual lives in line with Igbo cultural leanings that we can safely claim that Igbo culture will survive the trend of globalization and the wiping away of national sovereignties and cultural identities in the information age that we’re part of.

Igbo culture is the sum-total of what we do as Igbo people; how we live our lives, how we eat our foods, what we wear on our bodies as clothes or accessories, what we are known for, the songs we sing to one another, the music we make to express ourselves, the belief system we hold dear to our hearts, and our collective behavior and attitude towards life.

Ogene is not just an instrument, it is a genre on It’s own right, a sound, a representation of various entities that make our culture beautiful. It is by far a massive part of what makes us who we are and we are not about to let it go extinct.

Ogene is present in 5 of the most respected aspects of Igbo culture from Igbankwu, Omumu na Igu Aha, Echimechi, Akwamozu, to Mmanwu.

Zoro is an Igbo rapper who with the help help of Flavour has resonated the sound into popculture, now it is considered hip to dance to Ogene.

Unity is also an important key to development and with the aid of Lil Kesh and Ycee, our brothers from the west can also embrace the Ogene sound.

Download and enjoy this masterpiece.

After a successful run with his latest single ‘Selfish’, Zambian rapper Chanda Mbao has released a cover of the recent Wizkid single ‘Shabba’ which features Trey Songz, Chris Brown and French Montana. For the cover, Chandarecruits talents Scott, a young RnB singer, and Kaladoshas, one of Zambia’s bright dance-hall stars. They have released their cover with a viral video which you can catch below.

When asked about what motivated them to do the cover, Chanda said: “Mixtape freestyles like this are obviously a big part of the Hip-Hop culture and we were feeling the bounce of the song so we wanted to showcase our Zambian take on the track, representing Zambia. Beyond that, I obviously have to show respect to what Wizkid is doing for African artists–he’s making history and it must be recognized. Even aside from Wizkid, we have a healthy respect for what Nigerian artists are doing right now.

I'm a better coach because of Jose Mourinho's rivalry - Pep Guardiola says

Pep Guardiola has given his first press conference as Manchester City boss. While speaking to the press, the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach admitted that his rivalry with Jose Mourinho while the pair were at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively has made him a better manager.
Barca were the subject of regular Mourinho barbs, and the nadir came when the Portuguese poked Guardiola's assistant Tito Vilanova in the eye during a touchline scuffle in August 2011.

"I think Jose put it pretty well in his press conference," City's new head coach said. "It's not about him or about me.
"We played many times against each other, and I can only say as a coach that the big coaches - and Jose is of course one of them - help me to reach another level as a coach.
"My experience against him and against, for example, Jurgen Klopp or Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and a lot of managers in England and Spain - it made me better.
"All managers in the world want to win and here they're going to try to win as well."
“Every stage is a big challenge,” he said. “It could be the biggest because City have not won as many titles as Barcelona or Bayern but I can’t answer. Maybe when you took over the second team from Barcelona [in 2007] it was the hardest because if I failed in that moment my career would be finished.
“We have to win every day. I see how difficult it is in England to find a team to win four, five, six games in a row. All the people talk about that. Maybe that is the challenge, to try to be more consistent in our game, but I think in my career people are always going to demand [success of] my teams … but in the end that is good. It is better to live under that pressure so I think you have to understand, maybe we will not be able to win, maybe we will not win every day but we are going to try and that is the important thing to change in our play.” Source: www.mcfc.com
