Donald Trump's communications director Mike Dubke resigns just after 3 months





Just three months into his job, White House communications director Mike Dubke has resigned. He stepped down a day before Trump embarked on his first foreign trip but kept the resignation away from the Public until today. He however continued to come to work at the White House and his official leave date has not been set.

According to a reports, Mike Dubke submitted his resignation on May 18, 2017 and offered to keep his post until Trump concluded his first foreign trip.


Kellyanne Conway also confirmed the resignation in an interview with Fox where she said: "What I will say is that he has expressed his desire to leave the White House and made very clear that he would see through the President's international trip".


Speaking to CNN, Dubke said "It has been a privilege to serve this president". He also revealed that he had a good conversation with Trump after submitting his resignation and was resigning for personal reasons. He however declined to discuss the turmoil inside the White House saying he was resigning "for personal reasons."

Former Panama dictator, Manuel Noriega dies at 83





Manuel Noriega, the former Panamanian notorious dictator known as 'CIA's man in Panama who spied for the United State before his drug trafficking ties led to his ouster in 1989 in what was then the largest American military action since the Vietnam War, has died, at the age of 83.


President Juan Carlos Varela of Panama announced Mr. Noriega’s death on Twitter early Tuesday morning.



Mr. Varela’s post read, “The death of Manuel A. Noriega closes a chapter in our history; his daughters and his relatives deserve to bury him in peace.”


According to a government official who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Mr. Noriega who had been put into an induced coma in March after undergoing brain surgery died around 11 p.m. Monday at Santo Tomás Hospital in Panama City.


Noriega ruled Panama from 1983 to 1989, spying for the CIA before the US invaded in his repressive regime in 1989, ending a drug-trafficking career that associated him with the Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar.

East African singer, Diamond Platnumz and his babymama, Zari Hassan seem to be throwing shades at each in new Instagram posts. Since the death of Zari's ex-husband, Ivan Semewanga, the couple seem to be having issues. First, Diamind Platnumz sent a weird condolence message to Zari (read here). Now, in a recent post, Zari shared a photo with one of her sons at Ivan's burial and captioned it;

"In life, with time, you realise who is important who is not. Some will act to be there for you when it's all a lie. But in this world, what's at my door will come knocking at yours.... soon or later!!!!! #PlottingWithPinto"



Diamond Platunmz also shared a post a saying "To many fake people in this world" and captioned it; "and it's very hard to tell".

Kunle Afolayan retrieves the bag he forgot in an Uber in Paris







Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has retrieved the bag containing his laptop, Passport and other valuables which he forgot in an Uber in Paris. The filmmaker cried out for help on Sunday explaining that he forgot the bag in an Uber ride he took from the airport. He took to his Instagram page to thank everyone who helped facilitate the return of the bag. He wrote;

"Thanks guys for all the outburst and reaching out. @uber@uberparis brought my bag today. I really appreciate everyone who showed concern. Ire"

Graphic photos: Young military officer 'mistaken' for armed robber lynched and burnt to death by mob in Ghana








A military officer with the (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra was on Monday, May 29th, lynched by residents of Denkyira Boaso of the Central region who mistook him for an armed robber.


Captain Maxwell Mahama who is commander of a military detachment in the area was jogging along the Denkyira Boaso-Diaso road when he asked some women for direction. He was not in a uniform.

The women reportedly called the Assembly man who organized the youths of the town to lynch him. They later burnt his body.





Meanwhile, Ghana Armed Forces have commenced investigations into the murder. The incident has sent heightened anxiety within the town after the perpetrators of the heinous crime realised the deceased was a military man on official duty.


The Armed Forces in a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations, Col. Aggrey-Quarshie said a fact-finding team led by the Chief of Army Staff is proceeding to the area to gather more information about the development.
"A high-powered fact-finding team led by the Chief of the Army Staff is proceeding to the scene of the incident to ascertain the facts of the case."
He said they were collaborating with the police and other security agencies to bring perpetrators to book.
“GAF is working closely with the police and other security agencies to unravel the full facts of the case.”
According to the Armed Forces, its “Initial report indicates the officer was lynched by locals of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region whilst he was jogging at about 08.30 am on Monday 29 May 2017, under circumstances yet to be verified.”
"The officer was the detachment commander of our troops on operational duties in the general area."The Armed Forces has also urged its personnel to remain calm as the due procedure is taken to bring the perpetrators to book.
