Police arrest suspected kidnappers of Lagos school students

The Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has arrested three suspects in connection with last Thursday's kidnap of six male students of Igbonla Model School, Igbonla near Epe in Lagos state.
According to an assistant commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, the three suspects were today arrested in Benin city, Edo state and they have confessed to have carried out the kidnapping of some important personalities in Ogun and Lagos state.

“Three of the militant kidnappers, who left the creek and came to Benin to visit one of their members that was injured in recent gun battle with security agents, were arrested by IRT in Benin. The suspects are Egelu Endurance, aka Jubby, 25, a native of Abere town in Ovia South L.G.A Edo; Stanley Yomi Irabomini, 25, aka Powei from Ovia South LGA of Edo State and Bentel Endurance, 24, also from Ovia South LGA Edo State. The suspects claimed they came to Benin to see their injured colleague and relax for a while before going back to the creek”he said

One Captain Chris Ndukwe Oshuoha has been killed by Sea pirates. Details surrounding his death are still sketchy, however, according to friends and family, he was reportedly captured by the pirates while on duty at sea and murdered. He left behind a wife, Florence Anthony Oshuoha and a 2-year-old daughter.

The South African Police are desperately looking for a 60-year-old woman who went missing on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
According to reports, Loretta Lamont left home at about 5pm on that fateful day wearing a black skirt, boots and jersey. She said she was on her way to Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg but has since not returned back home.

When LIB reached out to Vidian Ghanie, a member of her family, she confirmed the sad story to us.



'Yes, my aunt went missing. She had an operation on her leg in March and the bandages have to be changed once a week. She went to Helen Joseph Hospital for her check up and never returned. We have opened a missing person's case with the police.'
'We have been searching for her since Tuesday. We have checked hospitals, police stations, and other family members but our last options will be mortuaries. I never expected something like this to happen to us.' the heartbroken woman said.'

Kidnappers release abducted House of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde

A member of the House of Representatives, Garba Durbunde, who was kidnapped by unknown men along the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Tuesday May 30th, has been released. According to an aide of the lawmaker, Tunde Adela, the lawmaker who represents Takai/Sumaila federal constituency of Kano state at the lower legislative chamber, was released last night.

There are reports that his release was facilitated after a ransom was paid.

Durbunde was on his way from Abuja to Kano when he was abducted.

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Austin Ejide to bury mom on June 2nd

Austin Ejide, a former Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper who recently agreed to a three-year deal with newly promoted Israeli Liga Leumit outfit Hapoel Hadera, will bury his late mom, Mrs. Mary Onuekwusia Ejide on the 2nd of June in Agulu, Anambra State.
She died in April after a brief illness in the United States of America, at the age of 67.
