There were rumours last month that actress and socialite Lala and her ex-husband, basketball player Carmelo Anthony had reconciled over a year after they separated after he fathered a child outside their marriage.

'Falz you don’t go to church and I am bothered' - His mum, Funmi Falana says

During the album listening party of Falz's new album 'Moral Instruction', his parents Femi and Funmi Falana were in attendance and during the event, his mother used the opportunity to express her concern about the fact that her son hardly goes to church.



While holding the microphone to speak about his new album, she said, “Folarin, you don’t go to church and I am bothered. I hope you would start going to church this year.”



Falz however said his mother was right because he hardly went to church and he gave his reasons saying, 'I have nothing against the church or going to church; everyone has the right to practise the religion they desire but personally, as a Christian, it has been a while that I have been to church. It does not make me less of a Christian'.



In a chat with Punch, he went on to say,


'the most important thing is spirituality and your personal connection with God. The reason I haven’t attended a church service in a long while is because I went to a few churches and during sermons, I was put under undue pressure. There was a time that a pastor called me to the altar just to acknowledge my presence for being in church.


“In my mind, I felt that the service was not about me. I felt that everybody was there to worship God, yet they were putting undue pressure on me. The pastor gave me the microphone to address the congregation and I was puzzled; what did he expect me to say to the congregation?

These are some of the issues. I just want to go to church and worship God like a regular member of the congregation. I do not want that kind of attention. I was hoping that I would go to church on a Sunday and it would not be like any other day I’m at a public place or doing a show'.

Falz was called out for slut-shaming 'runz girls' in his latest song 'Talk' and he replied by saying he hates 'transactional sex'.

But social media users still criticized Falz for being one-sided with his criticisms. He was told that men also engage in transactional sex but he doesn't attack them. He was also criticized for not attacking the men who employ the services of the runz girls.

The debate has been going on for days and Kemi Adetiba has now given her opinion on it.

The director wrote that she will not be bullied to accept that what is wrong is right. She said she wouldn't want anyone she knows to engage in transactional sex, hence, she won't support it. She, however, pointed out that both the 'transactor' and the 'transactee' should be called out and both do not deserve her respect.

The names of the presidential and vice-presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is missing from the final list of presidential candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).



INEC published the full list yesterday and Donald Duke, a former Governor of Cross River State, had won the presidential primary election of the party but his victory had been challenged by Jerry Gana, a former Minister of Information.



The matter was taken to court and the court recognised Gana and upturned the result. After the court ruling, the party disowned Gana, affirming their support for Duke.
