Divorce is not the end of your life, it?s an opportunity for a new beginning - Daddy Freeze writes on being a divorcee

Media Personality Daddy Freeze has given a succint view of what being a divorcee means and the challenges they face in the society.

The media personality who said this in reaction to LIB's report of a 23-year-old lady who recounted how she was ridiculed for being a divorcee before being called to bar, stated that divorce is not the end of life but an opportunity for a new beginning.

Daddy Freeze noted that he feels the lady's pain but is also proud of her for not staying in a putrid situation like many of those subsumed by social pressure.

He wrote;

As a Divorcee myself, I feel her pain.
There is little emotional support for divorcees from the society.
-
Divorce is not the end of your life; it’s an opportunity for a new beginning.
-
I’m so proud of her for not staying in a putrid situation like many of those subsumed by social pressure.
-
If you are divorced and joyful, not allowing the society to define you, let me see those hands. ~FRZ

'Trump committed second-degree murder with handling of Coronavirus and must be held accountable for deaths' - Lawyer Glenn Kirschner says

Top American lawyer and MSNBC legal analyst, Glenn Kirschner, says US President Trump committed second-degree murder with his handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Kirschner feels audio excerpts from interviews that journalist Bob Woodward conducted with Trump in February and March that were published by The Washington Post on Wednesday prove his guilt.

The interviews written in Woodward's forthcoming book, "Rage" detail how Trump talked about the deadly nature of the Coronavirus pandemic but explained he wanted to downplay it to avoid widespread panic.

While Trump says he did not lie to the American people, Kirschner (pictured below) disagrees.

“What Donald Trump has just done by virtue of the tapes that Bob Woodward released, is he has upped his own criminal ante to second-degree murder,” Kirschner said Friday on SiriusXM’s “The Dean Obeidallah Show.”

“He was lying to the American people about the danger this virus posed,” Kirschner continued.

“He was saying to Bob Woodward, in very dramatic tones, you know, ‘This thing is airborne only you need to do is breathe near somebody who is infected and you are going to get it,’ he didn’t tell the American people that. But what did he do? He refused to order the production of the personal protective equipment.”

“This man has upped the criminal ante to second-degree murder, and there are only two elements for second-degree murder. The first is you caused the death of another. The second element is the intent element,” Kirschner said. “And here’s where it would otherwise get tricky if we didn’t have Trump’s incriminating admissions.”

Kirschner explained that Trump didn’t intend to kill people but that doesn’t matter at all because he feels the president committed “conscious disregard, which fits the criteria of second-degree murder."

“That’s defined as, your conduct was in conscious disregard of the extreme risk you were creating to other human beings that they would suffer death or serious bodily injury,” he said.

“Trump has admitted, in my opinion as a career prosecutor and, frankly, I was the most experienced homicide prosecutor in the Department of Justice because of our unique jurisdictional mandate in D.C., that is second-degree murder and Donald Trump must be held accountable.”

Federal Govt announces plans to spend $2.3b on 7,000Mw power generation

Federal Govt announces plans to spend $2.3b on 7,000Mw power generation

The Minister of State for Power, Mr Goddy Agba has revealed that  the Federal Government plans to spend about $2.3 billion in the first phase of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) project, aimed at increasing the nation’s power transmission capacity to 7,000megawatts (Mw).

According to Agba, the objective was to increase the transmission capacity from the current level of just over 5,000Mw to 7,000Mw thereby drawing the country closer to it's electricity-reliance goal.

“The PPI is structured into various three phases, aimed at increasing power delivered to Nigerians to 7GW in first phase, 11GW in the second phase and 25GW in third phase." Agba said during the Nigerian Energy Forum (NEF 2020) Webinar in Lagos, tagged: Energy Solution for Sustainable Recovery.

“The project is to be executed at the cost of $2.3billion  forms the phase 1 of the  PPI and is funded by a loan from a consortium of German Banks for 85 per cent of the contract sum; while 15 per cent counterpart funding is provided by the federal government.

“A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) called FGN Powerco is in the process of being set-up following Mr President’s approval. The SPV will warehouse the project’s contingent liability for accountability.

“We have also constituted the Nigerian Project Management Office (PMO) with the sole responsibility of providing project management of the project on behalf of the government,” he said.

Agba also announced that the government will implement the Transmission Enhancement Programme with key development partners to improve the sector.

“The World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), JICA have raised $1.6 billion for Transmission Rehabilitation and Expansion Programme (TREP), which is ongoing now with major projects as follows:

“The Alaoji-Onitsha, Delta Power Station-Benin and Kaduna-Kano at $410 million and $29 million is intended to build a 330kV Double Circuit 62KM line between Birnin Kebbi and Kamba.

“The Lagos/Ogun Transmission Infrastructure Project (JICA) with $200 million, Abuja Transmission Ring Scheme (AFD)-$170 million and Northern Corridor Transmission Project (AFD & EU) with $274million,” he said.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr John Momoh, said the new tariff put in place would address the challenge from stakeholders in power sector. He also said meters would be provided for enumerated customers in a year or two.
