A brave victim of Islamic State who was captured in her home and sold as a sex slave has told of the daily horrors she was subjected to.
Nadia Murad, 21, is from the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar, which is heavily populated by the Yazidi community.
Considered infidels by ISIS militants, many from the Yazidi community are stolen from their homes and told into a sex trade.
Miss Murad is one among thousands of women and children ISIS have taken and forced to become sex salves.

Speaking at Cairo University in Egypt, she told students: "When Daesh entered my village, they killed children, the old and young men.

"The next day, they killed the old women and led the young girls, including me, to Mosul.
"In Mosul, I saw thousands of Yazidi women where they were distributed to their slave masters.

"There I saw a huge Daeshi, who wanted to take me.
"I implored to another man to take me instead when I saw he was smaller.

"But he turned out later to be one of the worst people I’ve ever seen.
"The Daesh used to force me and other captives to pray and then rape us.
"We were not worth the value of animals. They raped girls in groups. They did what a mind could not imagine. In their so-called Sharia [Islamic law] courts, they had our names and phone numbers of our slave masters.

"They would call us whenever they wanted to spend time with us and sell us."

The brave victim eventually managed to escape her so-called "owner".

She added: "I am the victim of terrorism disguised under the cloak of Islam. All these crimes are committed in the name of Islam.
One Show host Alex Jones will see in the New Year as a married woman after tying the knot with Charlie Thomson on New Year's Eve.
And 28-year-old Alex can look forward to being better off as the couple have sold the rights to their nuptials to a magazine in a deal believed to run to six figures.
Guests at the lavish ceremony in Cardiff Castle will be later treated to a free fireworks extravaganza – courtesy of a nearby display put on by the council.
Alex and New Zealander Charlie revealed their engagement live on TV in February.
She said of the big day: “It’ll be just with our close friends and family and a day when everybody can have a bit of a laugh.”

Welsh presenter Alex met insurance broker Charlie, who was living in Britain but planning to return Down Under, in 2011.She said: “It’s so refreshing to be with someone outside of the media industry. What works brilliantly is I don’t cook at all and Charlie is a trained chef.”
But it remains to be seen if the couple will stay long-term in the UK.

In a statement released yesterday in Uyo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Kufre Okon, said Bassey emerged the first female Deputy Speaker during Tuesday’s plenary, to replace the former Deputy Speaker, Mr. Effiong Bassey, representing Oron/Udung Uko state constituency, whose election was nullified last week by the Appeal Court in Abuja.
The Speaker, Mr. Onofiok Luke, who administered the oath of office on the new Deputy Speaker encouraged her to live up to the expectation of the sixth Assembly while discharging her legislative duties. The statement added that other members said that the position was well deserved, and expressed confidence in her ability to discharge the functions of the office to its fullest potential.
