Update: Everton star Andre Gomes discharged from hospital after successful surgery to repair horrific fracture-dislocation on his right ankle
Everton midfielder, Andre Gomes has been discharged from hospital after a successful surgery to repair horrific fracture-dislocation on his right ankle.
The 26-year-old Portuguese star suffered a fracture-dislocation to his right ankle after a challenge from winger Son Heung-min sent him crashing into Serge Aurier in the 78th minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Goodison Park.
On Monday, November 4, the former Barcelona star had a procedure to repair the fracture dislocation and the surgery was successful.
In a statement on Tuesday, Everton said: 'Following a successful operation yesterday, Andre Gomes has now been discharged from hospital and will continue his rehabilitation under the care of our medical team.'
While the club is yet reveal time frame on his return to first-team action, Gomes is unlikely to play again this season.

Kim Kardashian clashes with Kanye West over religious views which led him to remove TVs from kids' rooms
Kim Kardashian has revealed she and her husband Kanye West have had 'fights' over his religious journey since he became a 'born again' Christian.
The 39-year-old mother of four appeared with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe on The Real on Tuesday (Nov.5) and opened up about her 'fights' with her 42-year-old husband over his religious journey.
When asked if she supports her the husband's new spiritual life journey, she replied: 'I do think that, you know, he is my husband.
'So, I obviously want to honor him and what he’s feeling. And he’s been going through this life change, and it’s mostly about the kids.'
Kim also revealed that Kanye even went as far as removing the TVs in kids' rooms, as he has become increasingly cautious about the type of imagery that is in their home.
Kim explained: 'We got rid of TVs in the kids’ rooms and removed makeup from North's room – and he’s been very… had this, you know, epiphany of being this - not that he wasn’t an amazing dad - but being a little bit more strict as a dad and being very forceful on the imagery that’s in our household and what they see.
According to her, such drastic measures are good for their children but it has been difficult for her to take.
The reality star explained: 'But I’m always gonna be me… and so, we had that discussion and that fight.'
She said: 'I think, at the end of the day that’s what marriage is. He’s gonna do things that I don’t agree with, and I support him, and vice versa.
'So, with this, it was like we were like just having this conversation of what is too much and I am a mother of four, like, I am gonna be forty next year, like, when is it time to...'
This comes days Kanye West banned their six-year-old daughter North from wearing make-up and crop tops for same reason.

Yesterday's fire incident in Balogun market saw a security guard using a bucket to scoop water and try to quench the fire with it.
A video showing the security guard's futile effort went viral and Katie Hopkins reshared it with a caption that shames Nigeria.

Rapper Kevin McCall arrested for fighting cops in courthouse (video)
US rapper, Kevin McCall Jr. has been arrested for fighting officers in a courthouse.
Kevin McCall and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Eva Marcille have a 5-year-old daughter, Marley Rae. Eva has moved on and is now married but they are still going back and forth on the custody of their daughter.
On Tuesday, November 5, McCall was at the Justice Center Tower in Fulton County, Georgia, to attend a hearing in his ongoing child custody battle with Eva Marcille. But he went from fighting for child custody to fighting officers and falling down a courthouse escalator.
Cops who arrested him on the spot narrated what transpired. They said he was recording video in the courthouse and posting on Instagram Live. Cops said they repeatedly told him it's not allowed but he refused to shut down the feed.
He went as far as repeatedly calling a cop a b*tch and telling him to take off his badge and fight.
Cops say McCall swatted away a sergeant's hands, and when backup arrived to detain McCall, cops say he broke loose. They made a second attempt to detain him, and cops say that's when he and the sergeant fell down an escalator.
McCall was booked on 5 charges, 4 misdemeanors -- obstruction of a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and simple assault. He also earned himself one felony count - criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree. That might be related to the officer's eyeglasses, which cops say broke in the fall.
Eva earlier said McCall is a ticking time bomb and she's begged the court to block him from getting custody of their 5-year-old daughter.

Nigerian student arrested in India for stabbing fellow Nigerian to death after fight over lunch box
A 39-year-old Nigerian identified as Morado was allegedly stabbed to death by a fellow Nigerian in Hennur, east Bengaluru, on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim was killed at his residence in Janakiram Layout, by his friend Samuel, 30, a BBA student with KNS College, near Hebbal.
Narrating the incident, Bengaluru police said that Morado, who was without a job, was miffed with Samuel for leaving behind his tiffin box at a food joint on Saturday afternoon.
The police also added that Morado was frustrated for staying unemployed for a long time which is believed to have contributed to him being short-tempered.
“Samuel and Morado were partying at a common friend’s house in Hennur from Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, Samuel took Morado’s lunch box to buy chicken from Africans’ Kitchen, a food joint in Hennur. However, Samuel forgot the lunch box at the joint and got the chicken wrapped in an aluminium foil. Seeing his lunch box missing, Morado, who was in an inebriated state, abused and slapped Samuel. Others intervened and pacified them,” police said.
According to the FIR filed, Samuel couldn’t forget the insult. He returned to Morado’s residence in Janakiram Layout in Hennur at around 3 am with a kitchen knife.
However, Morado did not open the door at first questioning why he came.
“Samuel couldn’t forget the insult. Armed with a kitchen knife, he rode back to Morado’s residence in Janakiram Layout at 3am and knocked on the door. Without opening the door, Morado asked Samuel why he’d come. Samuel is said to have asked Morado to apologise for having slapped him,” police said.
Neighbours told police they could hear Samuel and Morado shouting at each other around 3.30am.
“Morado then opened the door. Samuel stormed in and stabbed Morado on his chest and stomach,” police said.
Some of the neighbours alerted the police of the commotion but Morado had died by the time police arrived at the spot.
“Samuel was arrested from the place of crime in Morado’s residence after which he later confessed the incident on inquiry,” the police said.
A thorough investigation and verification of statements are now underway.
