They’re usually portrayed as the all-powerful kings of the animal kingdom.
But this lion proved that even the mightiest of beasts need a bit of medical attention from time to time as it underwent a CAT scan.
The unusual image is strangely humanising, and the magnificent creature appears strangely like one of us with his legs splayed out on each side of the scanner bed.
Although it’s not clear what exact ailment the lion was suffering from, it appears to be bound down and its legs are tied together, just in case that anaesthetic wears off a little bit quicker than expected.
