Mob Wives star Big Ang is still alive and fighting for her life, contrary to multiple reports saying she had passed away on Wednesday.
Angela Riola - better known as Big Ang on the TV series - is currently in a Manhattan hospital surrounded by her loved ones, according to someone close to the reality star.
After a number of outlets reported on her death, a statement was issued on her official Twitter account.
"The news that has been reported is TOTALLY INACCURATE... No direct information has been given, and will not be given any time soon. Angela is still in the hospital surrounded by her loved ones, and is fighting. Thank you.
The 55-year-old was previously diagnosed with throat cancer before going into remission after undergoing surgery, but recently learned it had spread to her brain and lungs. This is @vinniemedugno on behalf of the family of Angela Raiola, please see below: pic.twitter.com/wiuPApr9Lw— Angela Raiola (@biggangVH1) 18 Febbraio 2016
Speaking about the diagnosis last year, she said it came as a complete shock.
"One day I was perfectly fine, thinking I had strep throat, the next thing I know I have stage two throat cancer"
She added: "It's shocking what happened. First I thought I was cancer-free and I was gonna have a big celebration, have a party, and then a month later I [had] stage four lung and brain cancer.
"Sometimes I think I'm going to be fine," she continued, "and sometimes I don't think I am."
