Georgia May Foote was so upset over her break-up with Coronation Street co-star Sean Ward that her weight dropped to a "worrying" level, she's revealed.
Speaking about the "terrible time" last December when the relationship broke down, the 25-year-old actress said stress took its toll on her body, causing her already slender figure to shrink further.
Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous Magazine she said: "By the end of Strictly I was really slim, which was down to being tired, but also being stressed. I worried I was losing too much weight.
"I didn't put it back on over Christmas cos it was such a terrible time.."
The romance ended shortly after the Strictly final - where Georgia lost out on the glitterball trophy to Jay McGuiness.
While she's vowed never to publicly disclose what caused the split, she has admitted it was a painful end to the relationship: "It's still difficult."
"I'm getting there, I'll be fine," she said. "I'm getting better."
One person who has put a smile back on her face is Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice.
The couple took their romance public weeks after the end of her romance with Sean during a New Year's Eve trip to Disneyland Paris.
Despite becoming close during Strictly, Georgia said her feelings for Giovanni came as a complete shock.
"No way did I look at Gio like that on the show. No chance," she insisted, referring to claims there was an overlap between the two relationships.
"I just developed after that. Suddenly I realised: 'Oh God this, this is weird!'" she added.
Now a full-fledged couple the pair already live together and are planning for the future.
Gushing over her new beau, Georgia said he's always "there for her" and knows how to put a smile on her face.
"This is definitely the happiest I've been in a relationship," the star said, "I mean, don't get me wrong, I've been happy in other relationships, but this is very relaxed."
Georgia and Sean first began dating last summer, shortly before she joined the Strictly line-up.
Insiders at the time blamed the actor's "jealousy" over her friendship with Giovanni for their problems.
A show source told Mirror Celeb: “Georgia was very fond of Sean and she cared for him deeply, but he found it difficult to get over the close friendship she had with Giovanni.
