Powerful forces are after me - Runsewe speaks after being jailed by court

Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Olusegun Runsewe who was sentenced to prison yesterday January 9 for contempt of court order made on December 15, 2017, has alleged that some powerful forces who want him jailed and removed from office are after him.

Runsewe who made headlines months ago after his fight with Bobrisky, hinged his current ordeal on his refusal to turn in the Art and Craft village property (Opposite Abuja Sheraton) valued at 9.8billion to the unmentioned forces.

He alleged that the property which became a security threat to Abuja residents before he resumed office, was turned into a drug den, a hold-bay, a rented house for hooligans and criminals and a depot for illegal arms and sundry criminal activities.

He said;

“So I wonder why, some people are bent on converting government property to a haven of inappropriate engagement; hence, the police have to close down the place.

” The Art and Craft village belongs to the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. It does not belong to me but to the Nigerian people , so I would be failing in my duties as a public officer and appointee of government if I cannot protect government property to which I was mandated to oversee."

The Nation reported that Runsewe vowed to protect Nigerian cultural assets in the country and outside the country within the ambits of the law.

Anthony Joshua given deadline to agree terms to fight Kubrat Pulev or he risks losing his IBF belt

Anthony Joshua has been given until the end of the month by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) to agree on terms to fight mandatory challenger, Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev.

The British Nigerian boxer had recently reclaimed his titles in his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jnr. in Saudi Arabia in December 2019.

In a statement, an IBF spokesperson told Sky Sports: 'I have just been told that the Pulev and Joshua camps have asked until January 31 to negotiate.'

If he fails to agree on conditions for a fight he could lose the belt.

Joshua will also have to face Oleksandr Usyk, as he is the mandatory challenger to his WBO title before June 4th. But if he does not agree to meet the Ukrainian former cruiserweight king before then, he will be forced to vacate his belt.

Prince Charles 'threatens to stop Prince Harry's £2.3m annual handout if he steps away from public duties'

The Prince of Wales has reportedly threatened to stop funding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if they go ahead with their plans to step away from royal duties.

The warning comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said they were leaving their royal roles as they wanted to become 'financially independent.'

The shocking decision is said to have left the Queen 'disappointed' and sources close to the Prince of Wales claimed he could stop Harry's £2.3 million hand out from the Duchy of Cornwall Estate.

Speaking to the Times, a source said that Prince Charles 'had made clear that he will not be writing his son a blank cheque'.

The source also added that when the couple talk about splitting their time between the UK and North America, that they mean Canada, although they hinted that they could also spend time in the US, where Meghan's mother Doria Ragland is based.

After Harry and Meghan made their shocking announcement, the Palace said: 'Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.'

Brazil's Supreme Court rules in support of the Neflix movie depicting Jesus as a gay man

A Brazil Supreme Court has overturned the order by a judge asking Netflix to remove the controversial movie where Jesus was depicted as gay.

Judge Antonio Diaz Toffoli, head of the Supreme Federal Court on Thursday, January 9, rejected a decision to stop Netflix from showing the controversial movie, "The First Temptation of Christ", depicting Jesus Christ in a gay relationship.

Rio de Janeiro judge Benedicto Abicair on Wednesday, January 8, ordered Netflix to remove the movie from its platform (read here).

But Netflix appealed the decision and Judge Antonio Diaz Toffoli supported Netflix’s appeal against banning the movie, AFP reports.

It denied the idea that the movie was insulting to Christians.

The judge said: "One cannot suppose that a humorous satire has the ability to weaken the values of the Christian faith, whose existence is traced back more than two thousand years, and which is the belief of the majority of Brazilian citizens."

Netflix came out in support of the show on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Netflix said: "We strongly support artistic expression and we will fight to defend this important principle, which is the heart of great stories."

Porta dos Fundos, the Rio-based film company that produced the controversial movie, also released a statement, saying that it "opposed any act of censorship, violence, illegality, authoritarianism" and vowed to continue broadcasting its work.

Alleged N100bn fraud: We will reopen Peter Odili’s investigation- EFCC

Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that the agency will soon re-open its investigation into the alleged misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N100 billion during the tenure of former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili from 1999 to 2007.

The antigraft agency in January 2007, announced plans to investigate Odili. The former governor on March 23rd of the same year, secured a perpetual injunction barring the agency from investigating him.

Speaking with newsmen after a visit to its office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, Magu said the court judgment cannot stand. According to him, the matter is at the Supreme court and he is positive that the agency will receive the positive verdict to continue investigating Odili.

“I think Rivers is the next to Lagos in terms of crime. This is the headquarter of money laundering because there is a lot of oil money here. I think you can rate Port Harcourt the second to maybe Lagos, maybe because of the large space of oil deals. Nothing is going to stop us. Even the issue of the court order allegedly obtained by Dr Peter Odili and co to stop the EFCC from investigation and prosecution is still at the Supreme Court. We are on it.

“I am telling you that, that judgement cannot stand. It will only take some time but it cannot hold and we are going to conclude the investigation. There are so many investigations we are doing. I am sure the matter has suffered for about 13 years now. We are going to test it. The matter is in the Supreme Court. We will follow it up. That decision that is pending in the Supreme court cannot hold water again. There is a subsequent judgment that has overridden it. Other judgements say nobody, not even a judge, not even the Judiciary, not even the court can stop us from investigating and prosecuting” he said

He wrote;

The Indecent Proposal . I have to close the thread early as contestants are being bullied . We have a winner . The Pastor’s wife Oluwapelumi Wonder.

I keep telling all of you to think as if there is no box but you will not listen . The husband will be given $2,000 as promised but he must use it to buy a ticket to Venice ITALY and be thought how to spice his wife by my Italian friends who are experts in romance . While there, take her on a gondola ride , give her breakfast in bed , wine and dine her , go dancing , shopping etc and my expectation is that this trip will take their marriage to the next level .

I never said I will do all these for her myself , I said she will get all those spice but did not say by who .
If I had posted a free trip for couples everyone who thinks inside the box will jump in . Oluwapelumi has her own business and happily married and not hungry but she and her husband do not think in the box . To quote her she participated because someone who wants to sleep with a married woman will not post it on facebook so she thought as if there is no box .

Of course I will travel with them and pay all expenses and bring my Cinderella along too .

Congrats Oluwapelumi .
