Theresa May warns that the U.K. could be forced to limit intelligence sharing with America if Trump reintroduces torture

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, has warned that the UK could be forced to limit the intelligence it shares with the US on suspected terror plots if President Trump brings back torture. This was made clear only hours after Trump declared that water boarding and other harsh interrogation techniques may be reintroduced.


Theresa May said that she absolutely condemns the use of torture. The UK's rules state that officials will not share intelligence with countries if it involves a serious risk of a detainee being tortured, or that is how the information was obtained. The split threatens to create major tensions in the relationship between British spies and their US counterparts.


Speaking to reporters on a flight to the US to meet the President, she said Britain would be sticking to its stance on torture and was prepared to deliver this message direct to the Trump administration.



'The UK Government's position on torture has not changed. We condemn torture and my view on that will not change whether I am talking to you or talking to the President. Our guidance is very clear about the position that the UK takes and our position has not changed. We have a very clear view in the U.K. That we absolutely condemn the use of torture and that has not changed and will not change.'

Chinese club Tianjin Teda finally confirm Mikel Obi's signing

Chinese Super league club, Tianjin Teda on Thursday finally confirmed the capture of Nigeria captain and former Chelsea player, John Mikel Obi on a three year deal weeks after the footballer left London and teamed up with the Chinese side. Rio Olympics Bronze medalist, John Mikel Obi confirmed his signing by the club two weeks ago, and will earn around seven million pounds per season with his new club.

Emmanuel Adebayor's former team mate reveals the Togolese was unfocused on the pitch and lazy off it

Emmanuel Adebayor revealed this week that he's eyeing a swan song in the English Premier League but potential suitors will be wary of taking on the 32 yr old striker following revelations from former Crystal Palace team mate, Brede Hangeland. Speaking on Norwegian radio show Heia fotball, Hangeland recalled:


'I only played with him for six months but here's a quick story. I was playing for Fulham and he played for Spurs. 'We were attacking and I was marking Adebayor in the midfield.
He suddenly said, "Ahhh, I'm hungry." I replied, "What?" 'I can't wait for the game to finish, I'm so hungry,' he said. Do you know a good restaurant in London, Hangeland?' The pair later played together at Crystal Palace and Hangeland has another little story from their time together there. He said: 'Later when he came to Palace I started to realise where this came from.
'When we had strength workouts he would sit in the gym with just a cup of coffee and a muffin. 'He was being paid by [Manchester] City, Tottenham and Palace at the same time, and he was sitting in the gym drinking coffee. Incredible natural talent, but very lazy.'
Speaking to FIFA.com earlier this week, Adebayor said he can still handle the physical demands of the premier league because of his golden genes. He said: 'I am confident that I can still play at that level.

'I am blessed with golden genes. Physically, I would certainly be able to handle the pressure.
'I am the one who makes jokes when it is necessary, but I can also put my foot down if serious work is required.
'My father taught me to always say what I think. At times, that can lead to problems, but I always sleep well.'Despite being without club since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season, Adebayor captained Togo to AFCON where they exited the tournament in the group stage. It remains to be seen whether he can still cut it at the top.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Thursday, sworn in Justice (Mrs) Esohe Ikponwen, as the substantial Chief Judge of the state. Speaking during the swearing in ceremony at the state Government House, Obaseki said that every government must recognize the importance of the judiciary. He said that the laudable achievement recorded in the Oshiomole-led administration was due to the harmony which existed between the judiciary and executive

He therefore urged the Chief judge to bring to bare her wealth of experience in the discharge of her duties as a highly respected judge in the country.
The governor said that her choice as the Chief Judge at a time of great change in the state was remarkable as she "is known to be fair and strict in dispensation of judgment".
He also urged the chief judge to sustain and improve the harmonious relationship between judges in the state.

Reiterating his administration readiness to invest in the judiciary as evidence in the over 500 percent increment in capital expenditure for the sector in the state 2017 budget, he assured to uphold the rule of law.

In her response, the new Chief judge promised to build on the legacy of her predecessor and enthrone justice in the state.

According to her, I promise to be hard working, ensure speedy dispensation of justice and stand for the truth; It is the truth that sets free.

"There will be no more room for corrupt practices in our judiciary", she said.Soliciting the cooperation of other judges, she said "we must work for the strengthening of the third arm of the government.

She also assured of independence of the judiciary and collaboration with other arms of government for peaceful coexistence in the state. Justice Esohe Ikponwen was born in November 22, 1954 and went to Anglican Girls. Grammar School, Ughelli in Delta state. Ikponwen had an LL.B and BL in Law in 1978 and 1979 respectively.
Until her appointment as the Chief judge of the state, she was a judge at the state High Court since 1999. Ikponwen takes over from Justice Cromwell Idahosa who occupied the office from 2010 to January 26, 2017.

It would be recalled that previous female chief judges of the state were Justices Abigail Oni-Okpaku and Constance Momoh. Dignitaries present at the swearing-in ceremony included chief judge of Delta, members of International Federation of Women lawyers (FIDA), Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Hon Justin Okonoboh, Presidents of Customary courts among others.

Robin Thicke loses custody of his son as ex-wife Paula Patton claims he physically abused her

A judge issued a restraining order, Thursday prohibiting singer, Robin Thicke from going anywhere near his ex-wife Paula, their son or her mom for the time being. This was after Robin had asked the judge for an order giving him sole physical and legal custody of their child, Julian Thicke.

Robin Thicke's ex-wife, Paula Patton has sworn to a judge that Robin Thicke beat her during their 10 years of marriage. According to Paula's declaration filed in support of her domestic violence restraining order in May 2013 at the Cannes Film Festival, she and ex-husband Robin got into a fight and he hit her with a closed fist then proceeded to push her onto the ground.

In the documents filed, she claims he threatened multiple times to "bash my f***ing head in."
Paula added that she reached her breaking point in their marriage when in February 2013, Robin and their son, Julian came to stay with her while se was filming "Warcraft.".

She said Robin was supposed to take care of their son, but early in the morning, he began screaming in front of them that he wanted to "f***ing sleep ... Who do you f***ing think you are not letting me sleep!"
She claimed in the documents that Robin had a serious cocaine problem. She also accused him of cheating on her several times, adding that Robin called her while he was on tour in 2013 and she heard him having sex with another woman.
According to TMZ, despite these allegations, a source close to Robin denied her allegations saying:

"If these multi-year-old allegations were true, why is she only raising them now in the midst of a custody dispute where she's the only one violating the judge by denying Robin access to the boy?"
She also added that she began noticing behavior changes in their son last November. Describing an incident where Julian asked Robin for a hug before bed and instead she says Robin spanked him.

Robin's lawyer claims the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is almost done with its child abuse investigation against Robin, concluding that the charges are "unfounded".
The lawyer also said that DCFS is investigating Paula for emotional abuse

Italian police arrests suspected Nigerian leaders of human trafficking and prostitution ring

Italian police on Wednesday, January 25, arrested four men accused of being the leaders of a human trafficking ring which smuggled people from Africa to Europe and forced women into the sex trade upon arrival in Italy. Another two men were arrested on suspicion of financially supporting the network and selling illegal drugs. The group, which was headquartered in Padua in northern Italy, had accomplices in Nigeria, Libya and Sicily.
Police said the network ran an "extremely lucrative" operation. Telephone conversations between ring members and traffickers in Libya revealed large numbers of people hoping to be taken across the sea to Europe are being held captive near the Libyan capital Tripoli in appalling conditions.

"They are massed together to wait in captivity as price negotiations are completed and the payment is made (for the boat journey), during which time they are subjected to all types of abuse, from starvation to beatings to sexual assault," the police said in a statement.Police said it began investigating the suspects in June after a Nigerian girl, a minor, informed officers that she had been smuggled to Italy and upon arrival was held captive and forced into prostitution. She had been held by the ring near the Sicilian city of Ragusa.

Among the record 181,000 all the migrants who reached Italy by boat last year, more than a fifth were Nigerian. A half-million migrants have arrived on Italians shores since the start of 2014. Humanitarian groups say the number of illegal migrants being forced into prostitution in Italy

80-year-old spiritual healer cures blindness by licking patients' eyeballs

80-year-old spiritual healer, Hava Celebic AKA nana Hava, claims that her tongue possesses healing abilities and she has cured over 5,000 people from all over the world using her tongue. She corrects the eye defects of her patients by first washing her mouth with alcohol to sterilise it, afterwards she licks the eyeballs of the patient. Hava claims her methods are more effective than modern medicine and has worked for so many people.



"There are a lot of those that modern medicine could not help. They came to me out of the hospital with swollen eyes, I clean them and remove the speck." She said.Hava, who hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe, removes particles like lead, iron, coal, sawdust and glass from people's eyes.

For those who are unemployed and cannot afford it, she treats them for free but charges the sum of 10 Euros from those who can afford to pay. She revealed that she learnt her methods from a woman who was also called Hava however, the healing ability of her tongue is a natural gift, one she claims only her possesses in the entire world.

She has been told that when she dies, the locals are likely to cut off her tongue so as to continue benefitting from it but she does not believe she will pass her gift on to any of her children because according to her, "they are too disgusted to put their tongue in someone else's eye". President Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to describe Chelsea Manning as an 'ungrateful traitor' for branding Barrack Obama a weak leader. Chelsea Manning who was one of the most prominent whistleblowers in recent American history was sentenced to 35 years in a military prison for leaking a trove of state secrets to the website WikiLeaks. In one of Obama's final acts as president, he cut her sentence and she is due to be released in May.
