Shi'ites vow to resume protest as El-Zakzaky, wife return

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as Shittes, have vowed to resume their street protests following the return of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife,Zeenat. The Shi'ites say their street protest will continue until their leader and his wife are given proper medical attention.

El-Zakzaky and wife arrived the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport aboard an Ethiopian airline flight and were immediately taken away by the security operatives.

A statement by the President Media Forum of IMN, Ibrahim Musa reads

“It is glaringly clear that the Nigerian government had an ULTERIOR MOTIVE it was nursing using its connections in India when it violated court order and interfered with the procedures of the Sheikh’s treatment. This can also be deduced from the way the security agents whisked him away to unknown destination after arrival at Abuja International airport, without allowing him to have audience with the journalists that were waiting for his arrival.

The Islamic Movement will however continue its struggle to ensure that our leader gets the appropriate medical treatment he deserves as ordered by the Kaduna High court. And as we continue with the struggle, we wish to reiterate our call for the federal government to comply with an earlier Abuja high court that has freed him since 2016. We believe obedience to this court order will finally solve the crisis that has been lingering since the Zaria genocide of December 2015.

As our leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has landed safely at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport today, we wish to set the records straight in order to disabuse the minds of Nigerians from the false claims perpetrated in some sponsored stories and articles in the media concerning his aborted medical treatment in India.

However before we do that, we vehemently condemn the way the security agents whisked him away upon arrival without allowing the multitude of journalists that were waiting for him for hours to have a chat with him. We urge the security agency holding him hostage to declare to the public where they are keeping him in the country.

It is a well-known fact that the Nigerian authorities had tried all their antics to see that the Sheikh wasn’t given a medical leave. Distrustful of the Nigerian government’s offer of a jet to take him to the destination, having survived its attempts to poison and kill him while in detention, our leader Sheikh Zakzaky declined the offer and chose to pay for his trip through the Emirates Airline.

Their ordeal started right here in Nigeria when they were schedule to board the plane to Dubai. After a 2 hours’ drive from Kaduna to Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport in Abuja, they were not given enough time to rest before boarding the plane. They endured an 8 hours flight to Dubai and another 3 hours flight to New Delhi. Under normal circumstances, as patients suffering life threatening ailments they shouldn’t have been subjected to such exhaustion. Nonetheless our leader and his wife endured the journey hoping that they will get good treatment when they reached New Delhi.

However, despite their need for rest, they were forcibly wheeled to a hospital on arrival without their personal physician that accompanied them from Nigeria. They were then subjected to physical examination in the absence of the doctors that initially examined them in Nigeria and when they requested for their presence, it was turned down. Another physician that came from London was also denied access to them despite his familiarity with the Sheikh’s case from Nigeria. It was at this point that Sheikh Zakzaky lost confidence in the whole process and refused any further attempt to have him forcibly treated.

Moreso, the Hospital compromised its independence and medical ethics, treating without obtaining consent of the patients. The health workers were further more interested in taking selfie with the Sheikh and posting on social media, thereby violating their privacies.

When the Sheikh noticed some physical assault in addition to the background circumstances, he lost complete confidence in the hospital and demanded to see his own doctors for a substitute arrangement. It is well within every patient’s right to decide whether or not to be treated and to also decide who attends to his health.

It is called giving of consent, which every sane autonomous person with capacity is entitled to. Contrary to the Nigerian government’s press statement, that misinformed that it was against “medical ethics and standard practice,” it is in fact at the very essence of medical ethics, which every elementary medical person knows.” the statement read

Messi-less Barcelona lose their first opening La Liga fixture since 2009.

With Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez out injured, Barcelona lost their opening La Liga match 0-1 away to Athletico Bilbao, the first time since 2009.

Artiz Aduriz scored Bilbao’s goal in the 89th minute, in a game that the defending champions truly deserved to lose. According to statistics, Bilboa had five shots on target to Barcelona’s one, though Barcelona had 72 per cent of possession.

What they obviously lacked was the clinical finish, accentuated by the absence of captain Lionel Messi, who is for now sidelined by injury. And it was remarkable that the only shot the champions had towards goal was by Suarez in the 33rd minute, the last act that created his injury.

Kcee blames fans over celebrities' fake lives

Kcee has pushed the blame of celebrities living fake lives as witnessed in the Nigerian entertainment industry on the fans.

Alleging that most celebrities lead fake lives, the Five Star Music boss stated that people don't like it when one is real. He further disclosed that this pressure pushes many into faking it till they make it.

“90 per cent of celebrities lead fake lives because you guys (the public) are putting them under pressure. People don’t like it when you are real; they prefer it when you lie to them, and that’s why many fake it until they make it.

“If you are very honest and truthful with them (fans), your records will have slow sales. 80 per cent of celebrities rent apartments but they would claim they bought the houses. They go through that because fans put them under so much pressure. That you see someone on television does not mean the person is worth N1bn, so people should stop thinking that we’re living in heaven on earth" he told Saturday Beats.

Kcee also admitted faking it at some point in his 19-year music career. He however stated that he now talks about it because he has moved past that stage and is now successful.

“Yes, I have faked it at some point. When I started, I had to fake it. To be a celebrity, there is a perception you need to sell so that people can look up to you. I am saying this because I have gone through that and I have passed that stage. I am now successful. There was a time I was driving a Hummer jeep while my then partner, Presh, had his own. We would go to clubs and use all our money to pop champagnes. At the end of the day, we would throw the drinks away and go back home to eat noodles. We wanted to impress people and make them see us as the most expensive artistes.

"When I was in Ajegunle (Lagos) and I got to a level where I needed to leave that area, I used to tell people that I was living in Ikeja, though I was still staying at Ajegunle. Before you knew it, we started living in Ikeja and from there, we moved on to bigger things. There is faith life and also fake life. My own journey was always keying into that faith.

However, it got to a point that everything went to zero level, and when I had the second chance with Limpopo, my ideology changed. What came in then was maturity, and I made a lot of investments. I was able to buy things that even when I leave the earth, my children would inherit them" he said.

Katy Perry accused by a second person of sexual misconduct after one claimed she exposed his penis in public

American singer, Katy Perry, 34, has been accused of sexual misconduct by two people.

Few days ago she was accused by the co-star of her “Teenage Dream” music video of exposing his penis to others at a party.

Josh Kloss, who appeared in the megahit video with the singer, wrote on Instagram that Perry, now 34, was cold to him when others were around but warm and friendly when they were alone. He also said she invited him to a strip club, but he turned it down.

"This one time I brought a friend who was dying to meet her," Kloss recalled. "It was Johny Wujek’s birthday party at Moonlight Rollerway. And when I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush. But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us my penis."

"Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt? I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting," he wrote.

A Russian TV presenter has also come forward to accuse Katy Perry of alleged sexual misconduct.

Tina Kandelaki claims the “American Idol” judge once approached her while allegedly intoxicated at an event and attempted to kiss her without consent.

Kandelaki told Russian media outlet StarHit that Perry approached her and tried to kiss her, but she rejected the move, prompting her to look for someone else to try and kiss.

“Once I was invited to a private party with Katy Perry, where she, being pretty tipsy, chose me as an object for the manifestation of her passion,” Kandelaki, 43, told the outlet (via Page Six). “I managed to fight back, strength training was not in vain, and Katy instantly found a new victim for kisses, hugs and dirty dances.”

She reportedly continued, “As far as I can tell, there were no casualties at the party, but I won’t be surprised at the stream of memories of unhappy fans who for years carried this inside themselves, and now they suddenly remembered the scolded dignity.”

Forbes-rated young Nigerian billionaire, Obinwanne Okeke arrested by FBI for $12 million (N4.3bn) fraud

A Forbes-rated young Nigerian billionaire and CEO of Invictus Group, Obinwanne Okeke has been arrested by America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over a $12 million (N4.3bn) fraud.

He was arrested last week on the last day of his trip to the United States for allegedly defrauding top American companies of huge sums. Notably, he allegedly scammed $12m from a steel company by hacking into an executive’s office365 account and sending an email with a fake invoice to the purchase department. His arrest came after Special Agent Marshall Ward of the FBI and the team he heads opened up an investigation in July 2018, following a petition by Unatrac Holding Limited.

The charge sheet reads in part “In June 2018, Unatrac Holding Limited, the export sales office for Caterpillar heavy industrial and farm equipment, headquartered in the United Kingdom, contacted the FBI. They reported that Unatrac had been victimised through an email compromise, which ultimately resulted in fraudulent wire transfers totalling nearly 11million US Dollars. After reviewing the documentation provided by the representatives, the FBI opened an investigation in July 2018.

"The FBI discovered that after capturing the legitimate credentials of Unatrac’s Chief Financial Officer, the accused was able to log in and access the CFO’s entire Office365 account, which included all of his emails and various digital files, the logs indicated that between April 6 and April 20, 2018, the intruder accessed the CFO’s account 464 times, mostly from Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from Nigeria.

“With full access to the account, the intruder sent fraudulent wire transfer requests from the CFO’s email account to members of Unatrac’s internal financial team. The intruder also attached fake invoices to the emails to enhance the credibility of the requests,” the investigator stated. The investigation, painstaking and far-reaching, lasted more than a year during which Obinwanne emerged as the principal culprit and has since been arrested while on his regular visit to the United States."

Before his arrest, Obinwanne Okeke was a celebrated businessman who had a 'grass to grace' story on Forbes. The arrested suspect is said to be the 17th child of a polygamous father who died when he was 16, and he reportedly moved from one relative to another before moving Australia where he “did all kinds of jobs just to survive.” He became a viral sensation after he got featured in 'Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30' list in 2016.

It is not clear how he made the list of Forbes’ 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2018, it should however be noted that he founded the Invictus Group of Companies, an investment conglomerate dealing in construction, agriculture, oil and gas, renewable energy, telecoms, and real estate. Invictus Group operates in three African countries, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia. His company was named as Africa’s Most Innovative Investment Company of the Year by African Brand Congress in 2017.

Obi recently got married, had a baby last month and got listed among 100 Most Influential Young Africans in 2018 alongside Davido, Falz, Ahmed Musa. He was also nominated for the All African Business Leaders Award for Young Business Leader (West Africa) in 2018. The AABLA Award is the most prestigious award for African businessmen/entrepreneurs.

The young Nigerian who accepted an offer to be a Contributor for Forbes Magazine and published his first essay in May 2017, has however been arrested by the FBI for allegedly being a fraudster which is popularly known as 'yahoo-yahoo' in Nigeria.

#BBNaija: Why I want to be evicted on Sunday – Khafi

BBNaija housemate, Khafi, has signified interest to leave the competition this Sunday August 18th.

Khafi, who is up for eviction this week, says she is tired already and would like to go home. She revealed this to her fellow housemate, Cindy, after she had a faceoff with another housemate, Jackie last night.

The faceoff with Jackie started when Big Brother gifted the housemates alcohol after the Friday night arena game. When it arrived, Jackie argued that the drinks were for the cruisetopia team. Her comment did not go well with the ‘Icons’, and this led to a serious disagreement.

Khafi speaking to Cindy, said

“Really I will be happy to go home on Sunday. I’m so over all these. I’m tired.”

Cindy immediately rebuked her and asked her to stop making such a statement.

Khafi, an officer with the Metropolitan police UK, is currently being investigated by the security agent for leaving for the competition without due permission and also for having sex with her fellow contestant and love interest, Gedoni, on National television.
