Nigerian big boy, Emanuel "Otunba Cash" Aneke, who is also the CEO of Instanbul Entertainment in Nigeria was recently arrested alongside his gang members O. Popoola, AA Oyemade, AT Fajolu and BO Balogun in Turkey for $1.4million scam in Denmark.

They are all accused of hacking international companies’ emails, learning about their business partners and then using duplicate websites to fraud them.

According to a police source, the Danish police warned their Turkish counterparts through Interpol back in May that a Denmark-based Turkish company’s e-mail system was breached and more than $1.4 million, as well as fake invoices, were sent to a front company in Turkey.

It was gathered that the company paid money into some accounts in Turkey, and an investigation by Turkish Cybercrime Department led to the arrest of Otunba Cash and his gang members including the Turkish ED, ZI and N.M, whose companies were used as fonts.

During police raid at their luxury hotel, they confiscated 17 mobile phones, 15 sim cards, 3 flash memory, 4 computers, 1 memory card, $85k, €5k, 5 necklaces, 3 bracelets, 2 handcuffs, 2 rings, 1 earring, Rolex watch, numerous crime documents and a luxury car from the Nigerian fraudster.

COSON lawyer demands One Billion naira in damages from NCC Director General, Afam Ezekude for defamation of character

James Ononiwu, a lawyer to Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), the COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji and other senior staff of COSON, has on behalf of his clients demanded the sum of One Billion Naira from the Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Afam Ezekude for allegedly making several patently false, baseless and malicious statements clearly intended by Ezekude to demean Tony Okoroji and the staff of COSON and to incite stakeholders in the Nigerian music industry and other right thinking persons across the world against COSON and its officials.

Ononiwu, the COSON lawyer, specifically referred to a very detailed press release dated 9th October 2018 titled ‘’Nigerian Copyright Commission Charges Chief Okoroji and other officers of COSON to court for operating as a collecting society without approval’’ which statement he said was authored by Mr. Ezekude and published on several internet sites around the world and circulated to and read by numerous people across the world.

In a letter just despatched to the NCC DG, Ononiwu said that he had been instructed by his clients to also demand a retraction by Ezekude of the allegedly false and injurious statements published against his clients and to tender a conspicuous and unreserved apology to them published on specific websites, Facebook, Whatsapp, the Guardian Newspaper, the Sun Newspaper, and the Punch and Vanguard Newspapers within 14 days of the receipt of his letter.

Ezekude was also warned that if he fails, refuses or neglects to meet the demands, every instruments and processes allowed by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would be deployed to seek redress against him.

It will be recalled that in a recent public statement, Mr. Ononiwu declared categorically that COSON is operating with a valid CMO approval. According to Mr. Ononiwu, “We wish to state emphatically that COSON’s operations are 100% in consonance with Nigerian law. According to Mr. Ononiwu, “There is no court order anywhere restraining COSON from carrying out its functions as a collective management organization. There is also no court order of any type restraining any COSON official from maintaining his or her position. The COSON Board is united. The membership continues to grow exponentially. The management remains solid. Anyone who visits the magnificent COSON House in Ikeja today will see a world class operation with very well trained personnel in a first rate environment”.

Ononiwu also warned, “We hereby stress that every public or commercial user of musical works or sound recordings in the COSON repertoire MUST obtain a COSON licence before such use. We wish to remind such users that musical works and sound recordings are intellectual property owned by citizens and not the property of the NCC. There is no circumstance in which the NCC has power to authorize anyone to use such property for free. We wish to assure everyone who is tempted to ignore this warning that there will be consequences”

Nigeria is too big and diverse for us to blindly sign agreements without understanding - President Buhari

President Buhari has said ‘‘Nigeria is too big and too diverse to blindly sign agreements without understanding the consequences of such actions’’.

He made the declaration when he received representatives of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) led by its president, Mr Babatunde Ruwase, at the Presidential Villa.

The President used the occasion of his audience with members of the LCCI to shine more light on his decision to inaugurate a Presidential Committee Monday this week to assess the potential costs and impact of the agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for Nigeria.

‘‘Nigeria is still assessing the impact of this agreement on its backward integration and import substitution policies.

Specifically, the provisions on rules of origin and transhipment were matters of concern to us.

Already, some of the treaties we are party to have been significantly abused resulting in massive smuggling which has crippled many of our local industries and destroyed millions of jobs.

To avoid these past mistakes, we conducted vast consultations across the country in which the LCCI participated. The responses have been mixed,’’ the President said.

On the issue of the gridlock in Apapa, Lagos, President Buhari acknowledged that the situation was a major concern to all.

The work on Wharf road is in progress. We will continue to do our best to expedite the repair works at the Ijora Bridge without compromising quality.

‘‘We have also directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation to use their infrastructure in the ports to support the evacuation efforts, thereby further decongesting the area.

‘‘Be assured that the completion of these projects is a major priority of this administration,’’ he said.

Why we focus on quality infrastructure - President Buhari explains

President Buhari on Friday, in Abuja, reaffirmed that his administration will sustain the delivery of quality infrastructure across the country for investments and businesses to thrive.

Receiving representatives of Trade Associations from the 36 states and the FCT led by the National Coordinator, Prince Paul Ikonne, President Buhari pledged that he will continue to do his best to ensure that the country is safe and secure for everybody.

He welcomed the group’s appreciation of government’s efforts in providing and improving critical infrastructure, especially roads and railways, to ensure ease in movement of goods and services.

‘‘These efforts are part of our campaign slogans on security, the economy and the fight against corruption; and on security, it is common-sense that unless the country is secured it cannot be governed.

‘The best people to comment on the achievements of this administration in terms of security are people who come from the North East where they used to share their local governments with Boko Haram, get ambushed and dispossessed.

‘‘Today, we are all witnesses to the commendable efforts of government on security,’’ the President said.

President Buhari also took note of some major observations by the traders including illegal seizure of good by agents of governments, harmonisation of taxes and charges, and the need for timely completion of rail networks connecting ‘‘South to North, North to the East and East to the West.’’

MTO claims Rihanna is one-month pregnant with her first child because of what she posted on IG

In a new report on their site, MediaTakeOut claimed that Rihanna and her on-again-off-again billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel are expecting a child together.

The gossip site shared a screenshot of Rihanna's post, where she revealed that she is due in June 2019. But due here could mean something else and the date could mean something else but trust MTO...

Read the full report by MTO below.

Rihanna and her on-again off-again billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel are expecting a child together, MTO News confirmed.

According to a person EXTREMELY close to Rih, the couple have been trying to get pregnant for months now - and now it appears that it finally happened.

Rihanna is so excited about her new bundle of joy - that she accidentally posted about her new baby on social media last night. Rihanna revealed that her "due date" was June 5th. Rihanna quickly realized that wasn't a good idea, and she removed the post - but not before we snapped a screenshot

By doing some quick math, that means Rihanna is just one month pregnant. It's still very early to make an official announcement, so don't expect anything from out of Rihanna's camp for a few months.

But MTO News spoke with one of Rih's unofficial spokespeople - and they told us that they believe that Rihanna IS PREGNANT.

Congrats to Rihanna and Hassan. We hope she'll invite us to her baby shower . . .

Migrants from Nigeria and Senegal arrested for gang raping a 16-yr-old girl to death in Italy

Four migrants from Senegal, Gambia and Nigeria have been arrested by police investigating the rape and killing of a girl whose death has been seized upon by the populist right.

The body of Desirée Mariottini, 16, was found in a derelict building in an area of Rome known for drug trafficking. She had been drugged and gang raped. Right-wing Interior Minister Matteo Salvini hailed the arrests, condemning those behind the murder as "worms". It would not go unpunished, he said.

Salvini, who leads the anti-immigration League party, has spearheaded measures aimed at scrapping protection for migrants not given refugee status, as well as stopping NGO ships carrying rescued migrants from landing in Italy.

Investigators believe the victim fell unconscious for several hours last week after being given a cocktail of drugs by several people, and died of an overdose. She was sexually abused before she died.

The police initially arrested two Senegalese men, Mamadou Gara (26), Brian Minteh (43) and Chima Alinno (46) from Nigeria ,all described as undocumented migrants, then a Gambian without legal documents, was arrested today.

Salvini pledged that the suspects would see "hard prison and then home!"
The four men are being held on charges of murder, sexual violence and distributing drugs. Mariottini had been drugged, gang raped and then left to die. As revealed by the autopsy, Mariottini‘s death was not be linked to an overdose, but to an asphyxiation cause. She, with all probability, died suffocating before being sexually assaulted by more than one person.

The imminent recession Nigeria was facing made Goodluck Jonathan concede defeat in 2015 - Fashola claims

Former President Goodluck Johnathan only conceded defeat after the 2015 elections because he knew the nation would witness economic recession soon, minister of works, Fashola, has revealed.

Speaking at a South-west town hall meeting, Fashola added that Jonathan only relinquished power because he wanted to avoid being at the helm of affairs during the recession.

According to Premiumtimes, Fashola revealed the Goodluck government not only plunged the nation into recession but pushed it into debts.

What was left behind were massive debts owed to contractors who had not been paid for three to five years and who had laid off thousands of workers and shut down equipment and plants. That was one of the reasons why the economy first went into, and, I suspect, one of the reasons they (Goodluck administration) quickly conceded defeat,” he said.

Goodluck Jonathan's aide, Reno Omokri has however reacted to Fashola's statement saying, 'who knows a good psychiatrist that can help Fashola with the mental challenges he is facing? How can he say Jonathan accepted defeat due to imminent recession? These men are so irresponsible that they can’t accept responsibility for the recession they caused'.
