Osun 2019: Charly Boy, Deji Adeyanju visit Ooni of Ife (Photos)

Charlyboy and Deji Adeyanju on Tuesday led the “Ourmumudondo” group on a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during the group’s voters education campaign to the state.

During the visit, Charlyboy told the monarch that the group was in Osogbo and Ile-Ife on a two-day public campaign against vote-buying ahead of the governorship election slated to hold on September 22 in the state.

According to him, the visit is to brief the Ooni on the activities of the group, and to have him lend his voice against the trend of vote buying and selling.

“As a well respected father and traditional leader, we have come to ask for your support in our efforts toward campaigning against bad leadership, especially the menace of vote-buying. There is urgent need for a better society for the ordinary Nigerian who has been deprived of good leadership over the years.

We want politicians who will give jobs to our youths, build roads, give light and other basic amenities. We are here to tell the electorate that as they go to the poll on Saturday, they should not sell their votes for any amount, and then suffer for the next 4years,” Charlyboy told the Mornach.

In his remarks, the Ooni commended the group for championing the course for good leadership and value reawakening, especially among the youths. He therefore pledged his support for the group, especially in its voter’s education initiative.

Drake sues woman who allegedly made false pregnancy, rape claims to extort him

Canadian rapper, Drake has filed a lawsuit against a woman who claimed he got her pregnant, including making false rape allegations against him to extort money from him.

According to a TMZ report, Drake is suing a woman who allegedly claims he got her pregnant in 2017, saying she planned the baby scam and made false rape allegations against him as well.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Drake claims he met Layla Lace last year during his Boy Meets World Tour in Manchester, England. He says after one of his concerts in February 2017, they hooked up at his hotel where he says they had consensual sex and "Layla also voluntarily and seemingly happily performed oral sex."

The suit goes on to allege in May 2017, Layla hired a lawyer and demanded money for her alleged baby and threatened him with defamation because TMZ posted a story saying Drake had never even met her.

The suit claims Layla refused to take a paternity test and Layla and her lawyer went radio silent. Drake says the whole thing was a scam ... "There is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born last Fall."

According to the lawsuit, Layla switched tactics and went to authorities in New York and alleged Drake had raped her during their one-night stand. Drake says at that point Layla hired a new lawyer who demanded money or else they would make the rape complaint public.

The Manchester police reportedly interviewed and cleared Drake of sexual assault accusations when the case was referred to them.

But, according to Drake, he claimed in the suit that Layla demanded millions of dollars in exchange for silence.

The rapper is now suing her for civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process.

''Nigerians voted Buhari but cabal is ruling them'' - Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has once again condemned the leadership style of President Buhari.

While speaking with PDP delegates in Oyo state yesterday September 18th, Saraki who has since declared his intention to run for president on the platform of the PDP in 2019, said Nigerians who voted President Buhari in 2015 had been shortchanged as it was a few people who constitute themselves as a cabal, are the ones running the afairs of the country.

''The President we have now does not understand leadership. We have endured him for more than three years but it is the same thing. Nigerians voted for him (Buhari) but a cabal is ruling the country. That is not what democracy means. This time, let us look for who can do it. In Nigeria today, we do not have unity. What we need in the present world is a digital President. When your president sits with world presidents, he should be able to understand what they are saying. That is why presidents who have visited the country did not stay more than a few hours. But when they know that their host understands them, they will stay longer and explore investment opportunities in Nigeria.” he said

2 policemen land in hospital after arresting elderly priest for groping women on a train

Two policemen ended up in the hospital after a priest attacked them while resisting arrest for groping women on a train.

Father Peter Slocombe, 72, punched and kicked the officers in the face as he protested his innocence, yelling: "I’m a man of the cloth."

The attack left one of the policemen with a broken nose and both had cuts and bruises. They were eventually able to arrest the British priest, who was not wearing his Catholic habit, after calling for back-up. He was bundled into a squad car at Rome’s main station.

The priest's arrest came after two women in their 40s alerted police that he had touched them on the bottom and chest. When police arrived and the women pointed at the priest, he ran off and that led to a chase which resulted in a struggle when he was caught.

Father Slocombe, who was on holiday at the time of the incident, is parish priest at St Joseph Church in Tewkesbury, Gloucs, and Catholic chaplain at the University of Gloucester. Parishioners had planned a party for him next month to celebrate his 50 years as a clergyman.

A police spokesman said:

This guy was crazy. He was punching and kicking out at the officers. He kept saying he was man of the cloth and was innocent but we have witnesses who say he was touching two women on the train and the victims identified him.

He got sentenced to house arrest for two years and eight months at a Rome court for sexual assault and resisting arrest.
