Sa'adatu has big dreams for herself and her family- Melinda Gates on meeting a young Nigerian mother

The Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Mrs. Melinda Gates took to her official Facebook page to recount her meeting with a young Nigerian mother of two, whose dream is to one day become a teacher.
LIB recalled that Mrs Gates arrived in Nigeria on January 18th, 2017. She was hosted by Mrs Aisha Buhari at the State House, Abuja, to discuss the challenges facing women and children in Africa.

"When I met Sa’adatu at a primary care clinic in Nigeria earlier this year, she’d just received a contraceptive implant. It was the first time she’d used contraceptives—a decision she made in partnership with her husband.
Sa’adatu has big dreams for herself and her family. She wants to become a teacher, and even though her two children are still small—her youngest is four months, and her oldest is three years—she’s already thinking about what it will take to send them to college. She knows that being able to plan her family will make all of these dreams easier to achieve.
Her story filled me with hope. And it echoes what I hear from mothers all over the world: to give our children the very best shot in life, we need access to contraceptives".

North Korea bans Malaysians from leaving the country over the murder of King Jong-nam.

Due to the controversy surrounding the murder of King Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korea's leader, the country's foreign ministry has issued a temporary ban on Malaysians leaving the country in order to ensure the safety of its own diplomats and citizens in Malaysia.

'All Malaysian citizens in the DPRK will be temporarily prohibited from leaving the country until the incident that happened in Malaysia is properly solved, the state-run Korea Central News Agency said, quoting a foreign ministry. 'In this period the diplomats and citizens of Malaysia may work and live normally under the same conditions and circumstances as before,' the statement added.
King Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un was murdered at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Feb. 13 by assassins using VX nerve agent, a chemical listed by the United Nations as a weapon of mass destruction.

According to a Police report, eight North Koreans have been declared wanted in connection with the murder, including a senior North Korean diplomat and a state airline employee - who are believed to be hiding in the embassy.
The only people charged so far are a Vietnamese woman and an Indonesian woman.

Let's wait to hear the Banks position- Alibaba reacts to reports of his wife's suspension from Heritage bank

Comedian Alibaba has reacted to reports of Heritage Bank suspending his wife Mary Akpobome over unrecovered loans she signed off as a top executive of the bank. Writing on his IG page this morning, he wrote;
"Thank you to all who showed concern about the story concerning my wife. Let's wait to hear the Banks position".According to the story by Sahara Reporters, Heritage Bank of Nigeria asked Mary, who is one of its top executives, to go on compulsory suspension so she can recover loans she signed off on.

Mary Akpobome after receiving the letter of suspension, reportedly cleared her desk because she anticipates that the task was so impossible she may not return to the bank.

The bank management initially refused to touch the powerful executive directors, preferring to go after staff members suspected of revealing the bank's problems.

According to Sahara Reporters, the bank's Managing Director, Ifie Sekibo, has not been to work since January, and was reported to be ill. Some of the sources within the bank, however, said his prolonged absence might have been to enable Mary Akpobome to be thrown under the bus as investors’ confidence has waned over the lack of action concerning top management staff fingered in fraudulent transactions.

It would be recalled that only last week, an Abuja company petitioned the Federal High Court and the Central Bank of Nigeria to liquidate the bank on account of its inability to meet customers’ demands. Geonel Integrated Services Limited, a security services company, cited its own experience, claiming it has over N1.8billion and another $85,859 trapped in various Heritage Bank accounts.

He's a drop out but this year Mark Zuckerberg will speak at the Harvard commencement

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is one of the most successful college dropouts. And this year he's going back to Harvard University as the commencement speaker. The university announced yesterday that Zuckerberg will address graduates at the 366th commencement ceremony on May 25.

Zuckerberg founded Facebook while a Harvard sophomore in 2004 before dropping out to work on the company. The social network was once exclusively for college students, but now is used by more than 1 billion people each day.

In a video posted to his Facebook page, Zuckerberg joked with Microsoft cofounder and fellow Harvard dropout Bill Gates about the speaking engagement. Gates was the Harvard commencement speaker back in 2007, the same year Zuckerberg's wife, pediatrician Priscilla Chan, graduated from the university.

"They know we didn't actually graduate, right?" Zuckerberg says in the video.Back in 2003, Zuckerberg made facemash.com a "hot or not" for students. He was accused of "breaching security, violating copyrights and violating individual privacy," according to the Harvard Crimson, and had to face an administrative board to determine whether he should be kicked out

Ogecha - Intentionally Woman (Tribute to every woman)

2015 Afrima Awards Nominee, Ogecha is truly an amazing singer and songwriter with absolutely amazing songs like Dumimaja, All For You, Brand New Thing and more to her credit which earned her a 2015 Afrima Awards.

Today, the Nigerian-born inspirational songstress blesses the world with the release of the first official single, Intentionally Woman, an amazing and soul-inspiring piece off her forthcoming sophomore album.

This song celebrates women who are doing great and amazing things with the life God has given to them, deliberate women who refuse to just let life happen to them, women who are determined to conquer the odds and make the most of whatever situation they find themselves.

Intentionally woman also inspires other women (and the men that love them) all around the world to get up and the take the steps necessary to making the best out of the life God has given them.
Ogecha refers to women who are achieving notable and outstanding feats with their lives as #IntentionallyWoman Personalities and says these women are all around us and should be celebrated as well as be a source of inspiration to us.

The song was inspired by the life of Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi, who has been a mentor, mother and friend to her. She is one of Nigeria's foremost enterprise communicators and an unmistakable example of what it means when a Woman decides to LIVE life and not merely exist.

Go ahead and enjoy the song and celebrate all the #IntentionallyWoman Personalities you know and can find around you by sharing this song with them.
