South African rapper, AKA has revealed that his breakup with Media personality, Bonang Matheba was just a marketing strategy for his new music. In an interview with South African magazine, The Plug, the rapper revealed that he never broke up with Bonang, saying that it was just a way to get people to talk about him before he dropped his new music.


"Originally I had wanted to drop the song on Valentine’s Day. I thought that this would be way too obvious. So I was watching the Grammy’s I think, around Wednesday/Thursday last week and obviously saw the whole Adele acceptance speech where she mentioned that Lemonade was a huge moment for the culture or whatever. I got the idea that instead of Valentine’s Day, I should do something kind of anti-Valentine’s Day due to the content of the song. I then came up with the idea and developed it from there." he said


He revealed that initially, Bonang was scared of the plan because of the effect it would have on her brand but he convinced her to go along with it. He said;

"Yes, she has a big contract with Revlon for instance. Her whole campaign is about “LOVE” so it was a calculated risk. Like I said, I asked her to trust that it would work out and it did. I was never worried on my side because I don’t really care what people think or what they say, because they’ve said everything there is to say already. She loved it. She’s a visionary, just like me. I told her to trust me, and she did."

Man sets ex-wife on fire in Thailand (Photos)

A 43-year-old woman from Thailand suffered a horrific domestic abuse after her ex- husband doused her with lighter fluid and set her on fire.

The culprit, 50-year-old Somkuan Jongsuk was said to have stormed the victim's place of work in Thepkrasattri, Thaland District, where she works as a cleaner.

He first beat her up before setting her on fire.



Rungruedee Sithibut who sustained a third-degree injury after 30 percent of her body was burnt is presently at the hospital, painfully recovering from the burns on one of her arms and shoulders, as well as on her back.

Commenting on the attack, a police spokesperson who confirmed the couple had a history of domestic abuse, said: 'Somkuan turned up on a motorbike. He shouted for her before he went inside the building. He poured fuel on her from a glass bottle and lit her on fire.




The 50-year-old man is being held in police custody for the gruesome act.

Rihanna to be honoured by Harvard as the Humanitarian of the year 2017 for building a breast cancer treatment center in Barbados

Rihanna is being honoured by Harvard University for her philanthropic work in her hometown of Barbados.

The 29-year-old singer built a breast cancer treatment center in Barbados earning her the title of Humanitarian of the Year 2017 from the prestigious university.
The Barbadian beauty will receive the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award during a ceremony on the Cambridge, Massachusetts campus next week Tuesday.




Other philanthropic works she has done include setting up the Clara Lionel Foundation's Global Scholarship Program, dedicated to giving people in nations such as Cuba, Haiti and Barbados, the chance to study at universities in the United States. She also works as the ambassador for charity organizations like Global Citizen and the Global Partnership for Education.

S. Allen Counter, Harvard Foundation director revealed the reason why Rihanna was being conferred with the award of Humanitarian of the Year. He said,
"Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados."

As Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was beginning his latest visit to London more than a month ago, a new series of Big Brother Nigeria was getting under way.

A former military ruler known for his no-nonsense style would appear to have little in common with a reality TV show where contestants engage in attention-seeking behaviour.
But both subjects were soon generating headlines for the same reason - neither of them were in Nigeria.

It turned out that Big Brother was actually being filmed in South Africa - a decision that led Nigeria's information minister to launch an investigation.

While the howls of protests from outraged Big Brother fans soon died down, the clamour over Nigeria's leader's extended medical stay in London is not going away.

President Buhari's absence comes as Africa's most populous nation is gripped by its worst economic crisis in decades, and faces the threat of famine in north-east Nigeria, which has been devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency.

And unlike Big Brother, there are no constant updates - in fact, President Buhari, 74, has not given a single interview since arriving in the UK.

Instead, the Nigerian public is relying on pictures - posted on Twitter - of their leader meeting senior UK officials as proof that he still is alive.

The latest statement issued by the government said there was "no cause for worry" about the president's health but his medical leave was being extended.

Nigerians have now heard their leader's voice for the first time since he left for the UK after a telephone conversation with the governor of the northern state of Kanowas played out loud at a prayer meeting.

His month-long stay so far has angered some Nigerians after he promised to crack down on "medical tourism" by officials.

Last June, President Buhari spent nearly two weeks in London receiving treatment for an ear infection.
But the bigger issue this time is that officials have repeatedly refused to disclose his illness and are not saying when he will return to Nigeria.

'Urgent decisions'

In a country where rumours are rife, the presidential statements have done little to dampen the speculation about the leader's health.

Nigerians are acutely sensitive to leaders travelling abroad for medical reasons afterPresident Umaru Yar'Adua died while in office in 2010.

For months, the public was kept in the dark while he received treatment in Saudi Arabia.
The period of uncertainty created deep political instability in the country.

The current president's supporters say that is emphatically not the case this time.

They point to the fact that President Buhari constitutionally handed over power to his vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo, as he has done on previous trips, rather than governing from afar.

He did take one phone call while in London, however, from the US President Donald Trump - the first between the two leaders.
"There is no vacuum at the top," says political analyst Jibrin Ibrahim.
"President Buhari takes his constitutional role seriously, and has not personalised power, unlike other African leaders.

Lack of authority?

"My chief criticism is that his government has been acting like it has all the time in the world, when in fact urgent decisions needed to be made in regard to the economy."

But, perhaps, one of the most striking things about President Buhari's absence has been the go-getting style of the acting leader.

Yemi Osinbajo is preparing to launch an economic recovery plan.

He also led a high-profile delegation to the Niger Delta to voice support for a government agreement with local militants groups that have seriously disrupted the region's oil production.

But critics say that despite all his activity, the vice-president has no real authority.

"He cannot perform because ministers and other political appointments are not obliged to be loyal to him as he didn't appoint them," said Isuwa Dogo, a political analyst, and a member of the opposition party.

"President Buhari is a public figure and there is no need for him to hide behind his health issues.

"I want him to be back in the county. If there are successes, he will get the credit. If there are failures, he will get the blame."

So, while Big Brother fans will know in April who has been crowned the series winner, for now, no-one seems to know when Nigeria's president will come back home.

Swedish politician proposes paid sex breaks for workers

A 42-year-old Swedish town councilor on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, suggested in a proposal that Swedes should take a one hour paid break from work to go home and have sex with their partners. Speaking to AFP, after presenting the motion aimed at improving people's personal relationship, Per-Erik Muskos, a local councilor for the northern town of Overtornea said:


'There are studies that show sex is healthy'.According to him, couples do not spend enough time with each other in today’s society, so he proposed workers should be given time off during the day to get intimate with their lovers.

He noted there was no way to verify that employees do not use their hour for other purposes than spending time with their partners or spouses.
'You can’t guarantee that a worker doesn’t go out for a walk instead,' adding that employers needed to trust their employees.

Muskos said he 'saw no reason' why the motion wouldn’t pass.

A study by Coe-Rexecode, an economic research institute, revealed that after the Finns and the French, Swedish full-time employees worked the least in Europe with only 1,685 hours on average in 2015.

While Brits worked an average of 1,900 hours and Germans 1,847 hours in 2015.

Angelina Jolie allegedly planning to buy a mansion in London and move with her kids without Brad's knowledge

It had earlier been reported that Angelina Jolie's real reason for divorcing Brad Pitt and going on a smear campaign against him, was so that she could move to London with her kids and work towards getting a United Nations appointment. (Read here).

Now, Radar online is reporting that Angelina is in secret negotiations to buy a mansion in London and move there with all six of her kids with Brad Pitt. The Turdor style mansion is reportedly worth $12.5 million and is located in Richmond, West London.

According to Carole Walker, Angelina Jolie's 72-year-old neighbour, Angelina has reportedly been talking to the owner of the house about living there and even took the kids to The Open Bookshop near the mansion. Brad is in the dark about all this, apparently.

Recall that it was earlier reported that Angelina is thinking about getting the UN appointment due to encouragement from two women; Baroness Arminka Helic, 48, and Chloe Dalton, 37. Now, it has been revealed that the new mansion Angelina is about to purchase is only 10 miles from the London homes of both women.

It is alleged that Angelina's relationship with both women infuriated Brad and was the cause of fights between them during their marriage,with Brad believing that both women were influencing his wife negatively and causing her to take endless humanitarian tours which separated their family for months on end.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, following their divorce, are in a bitter battle for the custody of their six kids; adopted kids Maddox, 15; Pax, 13; and Zahara, 12; and their biological children, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox.

Photos: EFCC arraigns native doctor for N2.4m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 arraigned one Bala Tangalu before Justice A. B. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja on a 2-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N2.5million.Tangalu, a self-styled native doctor also known as Babalawo, was arrested following a petition by one Dozie Ugonna, who alleged that he was scammed of over N2.5million by the accused and his cohorts.

According to the petitioner, the money was meant for the purchase of materials to neutralize some harmful charms purportedly contained in a carton filled with United States dollars.

The offence is contrary to Section 8 (a) and punishable under Section 8 (C) and 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No. 14, 2006. Particulars of Count two read:
“Bala Tangalu, Ataye (still at large), Nnamdi (still at large) Peace (still at large) and Linda (still at large), in the year 2016 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud obtained the total sum of N2,540.000 (Two Million, Five Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira Only) from one Dozie Ugonna under the pretence that you are a native doctor a.k.a Babalawo and the monies were for purchase of materials to neutralize some harmful charms contained in a carton filled with United State Dollars, which pretence you knew to be false".The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge. Upon his plea, counsel to EFCC, Elizabeth Alabi, asked the court to fix a date for trial and remand the accused in prison custody pending trial. She urged the court to consider the weight of the offence, which according to her carries a minimum of seven year jail term.

However, counsel to the accused, Yusuf Abdullahi, told the court he had a pending bail application before the court. He added that the accused had been granted administrative bail by the EFCC which he had not breached and urged the court to adopt same bail condition.

Justice Mohammed granted bail to the accused in the sum of N2million with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must be a civil servant or a community leader. The case has been adjourned to March 20, 2017 for trial.

Donald Trump scraps Obama's Transgender bathroom bill

The Trump administration on Wednesday revoked federal guidelines which ordered that transgender students have the right to use public school restrooms that matched their gender identity. The administration lifted the federal guidelines on Wednesday that had been issued by the Obama administration back in May 2015.

It will now be up to states and school districts to interpret federal anti-discrimination law and determine whether students should have access to restrooms in accordance with their preferred gender identity or their biological sex.

Officials with the federal Education and Justice departments notified the U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday that the administration is ordering the nation’s schools to disregard memos the Obama administration issued during the past two years regarding transgender student rights. The Obama memos said that prohibiting transgender students from using facilities that align with their gender identity violates federal anti-discrimination laws.


The two-page “dear colleague” letter from the Trump administration, said that the Obama directive needed to be withdrawn because it lacked extensive legal analysis, did not go through a public vetting process, sowed confusion and drew legal challenges.

The letter added that:

“Schools must ensure that all students, including LGBT students, are able to learn and thrive in a safe environment.” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement that his department “has a duty to enforce the law”.Sessions wrote that the Department of Justice remains committed to the “proper interpretation” of the anti-discrimination law known as Title IX but said deference should be given to lawmakers and localities. He said:

“Congress, state legislatures, and local governments are in a position to adopt appropriate policies or laws addressing this issue,” Sessions said.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos agreed with the decision saying that is an issue:

“best solved at the state and local level. Schools, communities, and families can find and in many cases have found solutions that protect all students.”DeVos also gave assurances that the department’s Office for Civil Rights “remains committed to investigating all claims of discrimination, bullying and harassment against those who are most vulnerable in our schools,” and she noted that she considers “protecting all students, including LGBTQ students, not only a key priority for the Department, but for every school in America.”

The decision drew immediate condemnation from gay and transgender rights advocates, who accused President Trump of violating past promises to support gay and transgender protections.


Advocates said the withdrawal of the federal guidance will create another layer of confusion for schools and will make transgender students, who are already vulnerable, more so.


“Attacking our children . . . is no way to say you support and respect LGBTQ people,” said Mara Keisling, executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality.Others said the practical effect on the nation’s schools would be muted, in part because a federal judge already had blocked the Obama guidance in response to a lawsuit from 13 states that argued it violated states’ rights.

The Trump administration’s move drew lots of approval from social conservatives who oppose the idea that a student can identify as a gender that differs from their anatomy at birth. Vicki Wilson, a mother with a child in High school said she sympathizes with children who have “difficult personal issues” to deal with, but thinks that “young men shouldn’t be permitted to deal with those issues in an intimate setting like a locker room with young women.”

School district officials in Palatine, bowing to federal pressure, allowed a transgender girl to change in the girls’ locker room at her school.

“No school should impose a policy like this against the will of so many parents,” Wilson said during a news conference organized by the Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian legal organization.

The letter also puts Trump squarely in the middle of the civil rights debate: Despite a flurry of activity in the early weeks of his presidency, Trump had not previously waded into the issue of gay and transgender rights. Trump declined to sign an executive order last month that would have dramatically expanded the rights of people, businesses and organizations of faith to opt out of laws or activities that violate their religion, such as same-sex wedding ceremonies.

Many took it as a sign that he would take a more liberal approach on gay issues than his Republican cohorts.

Advocates say federal law will still prohibit discrimination against students based on their gender or sexual orientation. Still, they say lifting the Obama directive puts children in harm's way.

'Reversing this guidance tells trans kids that it's OK with the Trump administration and the Department of Education for them to be abused and harassed at school for being trans,' said American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten.

In an exclusive chat with LIB, recently evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Gifty Powers revealed her marital status, TTT's relationship with Bisola and a lot more.



She revealed that contrary to rumours, she has never been married. She also confessed that she lied to her housemates when she said she was a virgin as it was just part of her game plan. Gifty also disclosed that none of the housemates is aware of Thin Tall Tony's marital status, saying that Bisola will be so sad when she finds out. Read excerpts of the interview below. LIB: What is your reaction to ruomurs that you used to be a hair dresser in Anambra state?


I am not a hair dresser, I have never made anybody’s hair for money. I just love learning, I watch people do something and I pick it up. The uniform photo was from a movie scene.


LIB: What parts of you in the house was a fake?


Some parts of me like the romance, kissing and accents were fake. It was part of my game plan before I entered the house.


LIB: There was a time you told your fellow house mates you are a virgin, how true is this?


Saying I was a virgin was also part of the game plan. I am not a virgin. I have had ex boyfriends so definitely, I am not a virgin.


LIB: What about your education, you claimed to have good grades


I studied Theatre Art in Ghana, had good grades and yes, I graduated with a first class


LIB: There were also rumours that you were married for few months and also an actor came out to claim he is your boyfriend


I have never been married before. Would love to get married in the future though but I have never been married. As for the boyfriend, he is an actor and that photo was from a movie, He played as my husband and I played as a foreigner. There is no relationship between us. I even called him and shouted at him. I asked him why he would post such a thing.


LIB: Are you in any relationship?


I was in a relationship before I went into the Big Brother house but broke up with him a few days before I traveled for the show. I didn’t want to break his heart because I knew my game plan was going to be very nasty


LIB: What is actually going on between Bisola nd Thin Tall Tony?


Bisola and Thin Tall Tony have a thing. I'm just imagining how Bisola will react when she finds out that he is married.


LIB: Does any of the housemates know Thin Tall Tony is married?


At a point, I suspected he was married because of the way he answered me when asked him if he was married. One day, two of us were in the kitchen and I asked him 'are you married?' he hesitated before saying no he is not. I also asked him if he has a girlfriend and he said no. Thin Tall Tony is serious game player but Bisola is truly falling for him and it’s written all over her. She would be very sad when she finds out he is married.

Sean Kingston beaten up by rap group Migos over Soulja Boy

Singer Sean Kingston was allegedly beaten up on Tuesday afternoon by hip hop group, Migos. According to TMZ, Sean got into an argument with 3 members of Migos over Soulja boy and they badly beat him up. Read TMZ report after the cut...




Sean Kingston was beaten up badly Tuesday and people on scene say Migos was the culprit ... but the story is bizarre and the group is not wanted by cops, at least not yet. Law enforcement sources tell us it went down late afternoon at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Vegas. We're told Kingston and the guys from Migos got into it over an argument involving Soulja Boy and the 3 members of Migos beat Sean badly, allegedly kicking him and stomping on his head.
Law enforcement tells us someone from Sean's camp pulled out a gun and fired once, but didn't hit anyone. That person was detained by security and turned over to the Vegas PD. By the time cops arrived both Sean and Migos had left. A short time later Sean was pulled over for a traffic stop and became "semi-cooperative," though he did not name names. We're told police want to speak with Migos, but they are quick to add members of the group are not "wanted" by cops.

Love, love, and keep loving with joy!" Italy's oldest nun shares tips for long life on her 110th birthday

The oldest living Italian nun celebrated her 110th birthday on Monday, February 20th. Sister Candida Bellotti, who has lived through two world wars, ten popes and 57 prime ministers, shared some tips for anyone hoping for anyone to live an equally long life.
She was born in Verona, and first became a nun in 1931, joining the order Ministre degli infermi di San Camillo and working as a nurse in hospitals and care homes across the country.

In 2000, at the age of 93, the nun moved to the motherhouse of the convent, where she takes an active part in community life and is known for her lively and joyful attitude.
She celebrated the milestone of reaching 110 with other members of the order and the Bishop of Lucca, Italo Castellani, while Pope Francis sent his birthday wishes.

The pontiff "participated spiritually in the shared joy of the happy anniversary, sending deep congratulations and heartfelt wishes," a blessing sent from the Vatican said. Sister Candida met the pope in 2014 on her 107th birthday, when she joined in a mass at Rome.
But what are her secrets to longevity?

"Take things as they come," she told journalists gathered at the convent for the cake-cutting ceremony.
"Love, love, and keep on loving - with joy!" added Sister Candida, and offered a particular piece of advice to the younger generation. "Have faith in the future, and put in as much work as you can to make your wishes come true."
The nun explained that her own wishes had been fulfilled by carrying out the work of the convent.
"Throughout my life, I have always thought to myself: Where God puts me, that is the right place for me," she explained.Watch video from the celebration below:
