She made this known when she appeared on Channels TV on Friday March 27.

“Now I can move and walk to start trying to train, because when I tried in the past few days I started to shake too much.

“I gasped for air and as a result I couldn’t do anything, after five minutes I was already very tired, I felt the body heavy and my muscles hurt.

“Now I’m fine. My fiancée Oriana (Sabatini) has also overcome the symptoms.”

Governor Makinde sacks aide who claimed Governor Sanwo-Olu's coronavirus project as his

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday March 27 sacked his Special Assistant on Digital Media, Mr. Muritala Olajide Adigun after he claimed Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu's coronavirus project as his (Makinde).

Adigun had passed off the disinfecting machines Governor Sanwo-Olu brought in for fumigation of public places in Lagos as an Oyo State Government project.

Adigun's sack was made public in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun. The letter reads;

“I wish to convey the approval of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the termination of your appointment as Special Assistant (Digital Media), with immediate effect”.

The sacked aide has however blamed members of APC (the opposition party in Oyo State) over his ordeal.

Adigun wrote;

“APC agent of darkness that hacked my Facebook account to disseminate this false information about the Oyo State Government yesterday won’t escape the hand of the law.

“You called for it and you’ve gotten it… Thanks to everybody that contributed to my downfall.”

Nigeria is not a joke because of one man - Rapper, Vector tackles FFK, Imam of Peace and northerners

Nigerian rapper, Vector has taken a swipe at former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, popular Islamic cleric Mohammad Tawhidi 'Imam of Peace' and some northerners over their tweets in the last few hours.

The rapper who lashed out at the Imam of Peace over his tweets in which he called out President Buhari, stated that he can't speak for Nigerians who won't speak for themselves.

Vector added that all the Islamic cleric did was disrespect the Nigerian government.

He tweeted;

You can’t speak for people that won’t speak for themselves. You can’t tell us about us more than we know. Until the people speak for themselves, you are just tweeting and sounding like you are aimed at disrespecting the Nigerian govt. that’s not a peaceful stance.

Vector who reacted to FFK's tweet which praised Imam of Peace for taking "President Buhari and his goons" to the cleaners, insisted that Nigeria never become a joke because of one man.

He tweeted;

Let’s not act like the reason why Nigeria is a joke is because of one man sir. We didn’t get here in two terms. Blessings

The rapper also slammed some Northerners who according to him act like they don't know there's poverty in the Northern region of the country. Vector added;

Abi all the northern people no know since say poverty Dey North? The seat of power? The same thing wey Nigerians Dey talk wey Nigerians no go support in solidarity? Na only my mind I know oh! Na only me Dey see as my #Lafiaji people Dey pass anybody wey Dey outside. Goodnight.

Mr Eazi recovering from an illness that "looked and felt like coronavirus"

Mr Eazi has shared his suspicion of being down with coronavirus after feeling unwell few days ago in the UK.

In this week’s edition of This Is Africa on BBC World Service radio, London-based DJ Edu and Mr Eazi revealed that they felt unwell at the same time, few days after having a meal together.

The Nigerian singer revealed that he resorted to eating loads of ginger and vitamins, bingeing on documentaries and talking to his mum to get through his days in isolation in the UK.

He said;

I think when things [like coronavirus] happen you’re looking for something, some kind of light within the entire situation… Now I’m speaking to my mom three times a day, which I usually don’t. So that’s one thing that has happened in this season - I’ve stayed more in touch with family.

Mr Eazi further stated that the virus is real as he told his fans to wash their hands and stay away from older people.

He added;

Please stay at home, the virus is real. I see a lot of people say 'Oh the virus is not real’ - the virus is very real. Wash your hands, and stay away from the older people. Care for them but be careful, because you might not know you have the virus and you don’t want to get a lot of people sick.

DJ Edu however revealed that they are both recovering from the illness that looked and felt like coronavirus.

On why Mr Eazi is yet to undergo a medical test, a Twitter user revealed that some countries won't test suspected cases of coronavirus until they've shown 70% of the symptoms.

@shymman7147 tweeted;

That's the scenario in most countries bro. You won't get tested until you have over 70% of the symptoms. Most countries are scared they will run out of test kits if they started testing every case. They did that in New York and ran out of their first set of test kits in few days.

And almost all the people tested came back negative.

Mr Eazi was away from Instagram for 3 days before sharinng his recent post on the social media platform.

Coronavirus: US Govt set to evacuate citizens in Nigeria

The US government has revealed plans to evacuate its citizens in Nigeria despite airport closures due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The US Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria made this known on Friday evening through a notice titled ‘Health Alert: US Mission in Nigeria.’

In the notice, the American citizens in Nigeria were advised to be in Abuja and Lagos “as soon as possible” to join arranged flights back to the US. They also advised nationals who are not in Abuja and Lagos to work with local airlines to make travel arrangements while flights are still available.

It stated: “At present, there are no scheduled flights to the United States. However, we are actively exploring options and attempting to secure flights despite global airport closures and travel restrictions.

“We will email US citizens immediately once we have flight details, routes, and costs.

“US citizens who are considering returning to the United States are urged to travel to Abuja or Lagos as soon as possible.

“The Embassy and Consulate are unable to assist with lodging, food, or transportation costs, and some hotels have closed or are closing.

“To disseminate important information and alerts for US Citizens including possible evacuation flights, the State Department uses the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program as its primary messaging system. US Citizens in Nigeria who want to be informed about emergency flights and receive other alerts should enroll in STEP immediately.”

US currently has more confirmed cases of coronavirus than any other country, with more than 86,000 positive tests.

Ministers donate 50% of their March salaries to support the fight against Coronavirus

The 43 Ministers in the Federal executive Council have donated 50% of their March 2020 salaries to support the Federal Government's efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

In a statement issued in Abuja today Saturday March 27th, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, quoted the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, who coordinated the donation, as saying it was a gesture of solidarity and support for the Federal Government's efforts to tackle the disease.

''This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources and support one another. This will facilitate an early resolution of the problem,'' Lai Mohammed further quoted Senator Saraki as saying.

The Ministers also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his leadership role in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

A vehicle transporting explosives caused the explosion in Akure - Governor Akeredolu

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has said that the explosion that rocked some parts of the state capital, Akure, in the early hours of Saturday March 28, was caused by a vehicle transporting explosives to a neighboring state.

The governor who visited the scene this morning, said security chiefs in the state told him that the vehicle developed a fault in transit.

I have been briefed by the security chiefs that in the early hours of Saturday March 28th, a vehicle in a convoy transporting explosives to a storage facility in a neighbouring state developed a fault while in transit along the Akure Owo Road about 2km from the Akure Airport.

Security personnel and other individuals transporting the ordinances noticed smoke from the vehicle. After several attempts to extinguish the resulting fire failed, the vehicle and its consignment ignited causing a massive explosion that was felt in Akure and its environs.

Presently, efforts are being made to ascertain if there are casualties. Following my visit to the scene, I have directed that the area be cordoned off to allow the explosive ordinance department/bomb squad to extricate the vehicle buried underground because...

..it is unclear if there are still explosives that are yet to be detonated . Everything is under control and I will be updating the public on any new developments. he wrote on Twitter

21-year-old woman tests positive for coronavirus after boasting about ignoring social distancing

A 21-year-old Instagram user identified as Ireland Tate, has shared her horrific symptoms after testing positive for coronavirus.

Before undergoing a medical test for coronavirus, the Nashville lady had boasted about ignoring the social distancing order, rules to stay at home and spent the day with a group of friends after saying she "didn't think she was going to get the virus".

She said in a viral video;

“I’m aware that we’re supposed to be self-quarantining and social distancing and all these things to like keep everyone safe get it, cool, great.

“I just don’t think that I’m gonna get the virus.

Ireland who is now quarantined inside her parents’ home with painful symptoms, is now urging other young adults to take the virus threat seriously.

Recounting how she got the virus, Ireland disclosed that someone she had been in contact with had the virus but didn’t know.

She said;

“A little update on corona, isolated quarantine, and why staying home is important. If you hadn’t heard by now I tested positive for COVID19 on Wednesday.

"I developed a minor sore throat, but nothing to be concerned about and decided to call the hospital to let them know the situation.

“They recommended that I come in to get tested, I really didn’t think I had it but I went and got tested anyway. 3 days later they called to tell me it was positive.

“I didn’t really have any new symptoms other than being extra tired and body aches. Then I developed a cough, a terrible migraine that is going on 4 days strong, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, and just overall a gross feeling.

“I say all of this to say that I didn’t think that I would get it, I made jokes about it and made funny videos about ‘if I get it I get it, it’s not a big deal’ and here I am. It’s not just effecting the older generation.”

Ireland claimed that in her home state of Tennessee, there are four times as many cases among people aged 21-30 as there are among those aged 61-70.

She said;

“Yes our immune systems might be stronger, we might be able to get it and get over it but that’s not the point. The point is that we can flatten the curve, we can give healthcare workers less to worry about if you would just stay inside.

“I’m going on day 4 of isolated quarantine and I am not having a good time. I am bored, I am starting to feel very antsy being alone and in such a small space for so long. As an extrovert and a 7, this is not a good time for me, but I’m trying to make the most of it.”

On Friday March 27, America's coronavirus cases soared past 100,000, making it the country with most confirmed cases of coronavirus. More than 1,500 people have died from COVID-19 in the US.
