Governor Zulum pays WAEC registration fees of 24, 323 Borno students

Borno Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Friday August 9, announced the approval of N152.6 million to pay for the May/June 2019 West African Examination Council (WAEC) registration fees of 23, 323 students from the state.



Payment of the WAEC registration fee was in compliance with the established sponsorship policy initiated by the state government. It is expected that the state government contributes 45% cost of registration fees per pupil, parents and guardians contribute 25%, while the local government authorities pay the balance of 30%.



The Borno Governor's Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy Malam Isa Gusau, made the announcement in a statement released today and he wished the students success in their exams.




“I expect the contributions from the state and local government councils will inspire the students’ preparations for future examinations and dedicate themselves to studies.

“I also expect that the government efforts will encourage parents to play their critical roles to support the learning and good characters of their children and wards,” Mr Zulum said.

After 25 years of marriage without a child, General Secretary of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Rev. Yunusa Sabo Nmadu and his wife have a cause to smile.



The couple got married in 1994 but never experienced the joy of parenthood until July 25, 2019, when Mrs Nmadu gave birth to their first kids, a set of twins.



Sharing the good news on Facebook, the couple's friend, confirmed that the twins, both boys are in good condition.

Defence headquarters sets up committee to investigate murder of three policemen by soldiers

The Defence Headquarters in Nigeria has set up a joint committee to investigate the killing of three police officers by some soldiers in Wukari, Taraba State,.



The incident has led to an altercation between the police and the Nigerian Army despite claims by the military that its troops mistook the police for kidnappers. Acting Director of Information DHQ, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, announced that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, constituted the committee following the directive of President Buhari.



In a statement released on Friday, August 9th, Nwachukwu said the committee would be made up of seven officers and they are to commence work to unravel what led to the incident.

The committee, which would be headed by Rear Admiral I.T. Olaiya, has representatives of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services and the Defence Intelligence Agency.

My relationship with Teddy A started as a game – BamBam

BamBam talked about her engagement to Teddy A and how real it is in a new interview she granted, just after it became a major topic on social media last weekend.



The reality show star stated that the engagement is real and also advised couples to become each other's best friend so they can know their limits and boundaries in their relationship.




“It (engagement) is real. Just like every other thing, you would see it happen. I can’t start giving (wedding) dates" she told Saturday Beats.

“If you cannot make a best friend out of your intending partner, where you know their limits and their boundaries, then you are messed up really. I am blessed that Teddy is mature, not careless, and as public figures, we know how to manage situations that seem beyond our control" she added.



BamBam also revealed that her relationship with Teddy A began as a game before fate happened.




“Fate happened to us. I can’t say it was pre-planned. He had a serious relationship that was one-year-old before I met him. He had a girlfriend he was serious with, so we did not plan to fall in love with each other. We did not know we would last this long.

"We had a very rare connection in the house. We both knew it but we kept telling ourselves ‘it’s just for the game’ but it was no game. So, I can’t predict what fate has designed. So, people should not go in there hoping to be a Teddy A and BamBam. I went to the house for a different purpose, but ended up getting Teddy as a bonus" she said.
