A lot of Nigerian youths haven’t been to school, they want to sit and do nothing'' President Buhari tells Commonwealth leaders

President Buhari today told commonwealth leaders that many Nigerian youths just want to sit down and do nothing, believing that Nigeria is an oil-rich nation and that their needs will somehow be met by the government.

President Buhari said this while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster.

“About the economy, we have a very young population, our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. This is a very conservative one. More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free.”he said
On his achievements, President Buhari said “Recently, my minister for information was constrained to answer a question on people accusing this administration of doing nothing, he said ‘let Nigerians be reminded what position we were before May 2015, what condition we are now, and what we have achieved between then and now and I think people were impressed with the answer. For security, we have done quite well. Economy, we are doing very well, especially with agriculture, we are providing soft loans, and guarantee is that you have to belong to a certain locality and you have got land, you don’t have to go to the bank and need a physical collateral. I think a lot is being done.”.

Jay Peacock – Spiritual Commando

Jay Peacock – Spiritual Commando

Jay Peacock – Spiritual Commando
Australia based Ghanaian Gospel singer and songwriter Jay Peacock is back with a powerful potential Gospel banger, titled “Spiritual Commando”.
Jay Peacock desire is to empower believers and create awareness about the spiritual authority to command, speak, or decree a thing for it to be established (Job 22:28), for life and death lies in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
“’Spiritual Commando’ encourages you to speak peace, command freedom, breakthrough, healing, prosperity, long-life, marriage, business, contracts and your Visa into being. Son of man speak unto the dry bones to come to life. Any dead situation, disappointments, cancer, and every evil enchantment against your life, against your family, speak fire to set them to blaze. Decree and declare, the universe awaits your manifestation, arise, shine, prophesy to the dry bones to live again, #EnoughIsEnough,” Jay Peacock explained in an interview.
Jay further stated that it is unfortunate that today, many believers leave their lives at the mercies of individuals who profess to be “men of God” who make these vulnerable believers think that their lives depend on the fake prophecies that are full of fear tactics and deceits.
He says, “It is time for the believer to know his/her authority and exercise this authority by commanding his/her way to freedom, success, and happy life wherever and whenever!”

''Nigeria is one of the world’s most difficult places to eradicate Polio '' Bill Gates says

Second richest man in the world and Co-founder of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, has described Nigeria as one of the most difficult countries to eradicate the polio disease. Gates stated this when he spoke at the joint forum of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Westminsteryesterday April 17th.

According to the billionaire and philantropist, India, Nigeria and Pakistan have proven to be the most difficult places to wipe out the disease but that Nigeria has done well by learning some steps from India.

“If you want to do something better, find out who is already doing better than anyone else in the world, and adopt what they are doing, to your own challenges. The Commonwealth is ideal for this and you have positive outliers in almost every area of expertise, and you meet regularly to learn from one another. Polio eradication is a great example of this. For different reasons, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, are three of the places it has been most difficult to wipe out this disease. But India was declared Polio-free in 2014. The lessons learnt from there have helped Nigeria get to zero cases in 2017. And now Pakistan, which still has few cases, very few, is taking those experiences, particularly at the challenges of dealing with insecurity, and they have their cases down to the lowest areas ever. So, this success really goes back to the substantial commitments made in part at the Commonwealth meetings. Collectively, Commonwealth nations are experts in far more than just polio eradication. Nobody else is better in the world at education than Singapore. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have built very high quality primary healthcare systems, staffed primarily by women healthcare workers.” he said

Nigerians will ease out President Buhari in 2019 - Olu Falae

The National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae has declared that everything possible will be done to ease out President Muhammadu Buhari from power come 2019.

Falae, who spoke in Abeokuta after a consultation meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, said the affairs of Nigeria are greater than the political ambition of anybody. He also stated that the emergence of a good, progressive leadership in 2019 was imperative for the sake of Buhari and the country at large.

Falae, who is a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Minister of Finance in the General Ibrahim Babangida military regime, arrived the home of his host at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) about 12:30 p.m. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours, had in attendance a former presidential spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe; former Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Joju Fadairo; two-time governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Isiaka and a SDP governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Sina Kawonise, among others.

Falae, who spoke on the outcome, canvassed the need for “all right-thinking Nigerians” to forge a collaboration towards bringing beneficial change in the country in 2019.

He added that it was important for the SDP and the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) being championed by Obasanjo to work together to effect desired change. He described the Buhari administration as a failure, insisting that the government has refused to carry out its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.

“What I am taking away from here is a confirmation on the fact that most Nigerians are united in wanting a change for the better, in doing whatever is possible to ease out President Buhari for his own sake and for the sake of Nigeria,” he said.

“The affairs of Nigeria are greater than the political ambition of anybody. So, I came here to exchange views with Baba Obasanjo on the affairs of Nigeria. Once upon a time between 1977 and 1979, I worked with him, he was the military Head of State and I was a Permanent Secretary working with him. And we did many things in those days to advance the course of Nigeria and the way things are in Nigeria, I think I should come back to see him, to exchange views with him to see whether we can make any contribution towards the elimination of the threat that we are now facing. I am sure that most, if not all right-thinking Nigerians, would see the need for all of us to work together to ensure that there is a good, beneficial, peaceful and progressive change in Nigeria. A change from massive unemployment which we have now; a change from continuous harassment from killing of people by Fulani herdsmen; a change from the fear and threat of Boko Haram; a change from a situation where farmers are afraid to go to their farms. A change from the riots that are all over the place because of frustration and loss of hope; a change from the present situation of depression and failure and revival of the economy of Nigeria” he said.

3-yr old girl raped to death in Kano

The lifeless body of a 3-yr old girl, Khadijah Abubakar Abdullahi, who was declared missing four days ago, was found inside an office at Khairat community school in Walalambe quarters, Nassarawa local government area of Kano state yesterday April 17th with blood stains around her vagina and anus, suggesting that she was raped to death by a yet-to-be identified culprit(s). Khadijah and her friends had gone to the school to meet with her mother who is a teacher there.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police public relations officer, SP Magaji Musa Majia, said nine suspects mostly teachers of the school, have been arrested in connection with the rape and murder.

Father of the deceased, Malam Abubakar Abdullahi popularly known as IBB, said he was shocked when he saw the lifeless body of his little girl in a pool of her own blood.

“The condition I found my daughter suggested that she was raped. Seeing her in that condition, we could not even touch the lifeless body. The body has started decomposing, causing an awful odour. We called the police who took the corpse for investigation and later released it to us for burial. Khadijah is dead, but I want justice to be done. It is Khadijah today, only God knows who will be the next target. There is a need for the authorities concern to do something on this inhumane act in order to safeguard the lives of our children.

Her mother is a teacher in the school where her lifeless body was found and late Khadijah and her siblings are students of the same school. On the fateful day she got missing, she was not accompanied to the school by her mother because she (the mother) was sick. After the school hours, Khadijah’s siblings came back home with the news that she was nowhere to be found after the closure of school around 5:30pm and that was the beginning of our travails,” he said
