Shehu Sani backs President Buhari’s call for PDP members to explain how they squandered $592bn during their administration

Senator Shehu Sani, says he supports President Buhari's decision to question members of the main opposition party PDP, over the $592 billion expended on projects when the party was in power for 16 years.

Recall that President Buhari, yesterday March 7th, said Nigerians need an eplanation from the opposition party on how it expended such amount of money.

“PDP has not successfully explained to the country what they did with the money. They said they spent $16 billion on power, but where is the power? The irresponsible expenditure of that period has not been explained, and Nigerians deserve an answer on that terrible mismanagement of the country.”the president said when he played host to Labour leaders

Writing via his Twitter handle, Sani said everyone that was once in the PDP should go and prepare for a presentation before President Buhari on how they expended the $592 billion.

“I support the President’s demand that the PDP should explain how they squandered $592 Billion. I advise the opposition party to recall all its past and present members (1999 to 2015),to prepare and present to Mr President and the nation a full report of such a monumental waste.” he wrote

Late Baby Beniah's father gives N25m out of the N70m Nigerians donated to charity

The father of little baby Beniah, Monday Agoboye, has donated N25 million out of the N70 million Nigerians donated for late Benaiah who was born with multiple holes in his heart and needed surgery.

Recall that the late baby Beniah made news in January after his father went public to solicit for N15 million which was to be used for the operation. However, Nigerians raised over N70 million for the baby. Sadly, Baby Beniah died on February 15th while he was being taken to a Dubai-based hospital.

Owner of KBK online, a Non-Governmental Organization that helped raise money for baby Beiah, just gave an update on his IG page. He wrote

''Here are the details
:
*The said amount will be moved into a different account.(they've done that)
*At least five people will benefit from this gesture
*Most of them must be children .
*One of them must be a heart surgery patient in honor of Beniah. They agreed to this.
In fact they already paid for one heart surgery. The beneficiary is Desire (@whitesugarconcept ) daughter. I will be flying her to India this month
*They are setting up Beniahs foundation as we speak
*They will designate 2 members of the family to be in charge of funds.
.
*We will send a lot of people on the surgery queue to them.
*They will take entries from other individuals and other foundations as well.
They will pay for which ever ones they approve.
We will be here posting all their gestures in the coming weeks.
.
I thank the Agoboyes for this move. It's a very good one.
.
May lil Beniahs soul continue to rest in peace.

President Trump's ex-campaign chief Paul Manafort jailed for 47 months

President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sentenced to 47 months for bank and tax fraud.

His was the first trial sparked by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe. The 69-year-old, who is awaiting sentencing for different charges next week, faced potentially spending the rest of his life in prison.

However, US District Judge T.S. Ellis has handed down a 47-month sentence for the eight charges the veteran Republican political consultant was convicted of by a jury in Alexandria, Virginia last August. It doesn't follow federal sentencing guidelines cited by prosecutors that call for 19-1/2 to 24 years in prison He will be sentenced on March 13 in Washington, on two conspiracy charges to which he pleaded guilty last September.

The maximum sentence for that charge is capped at 10 years. However US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson potentially could stack that on top of whatever prison time Ellis imposes in Virginia, rather than allowing the sentences to run concurrently.

U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis also ordered Manafort to pay a fine of $50,000 in a hearing in which the veteran consultant also asked for mercy but did not express remorse for his actions.

In handing out the jail time, the judge said the sentencing guidelines were excessive and would create "an unwarranted disparity" with other cases. Manafort, who opted not to testify during his trial, told the court that "to say I have been humiliated and ashamed would be a gross understatement." He described his life as "professionally and financially in shambles."
