You Cannot Fly Him Abroad He Will Be Treated In Our Rotten Hospitals- Nigerians Mock Atiku
Yesterday night, former vice-president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, announced that his son tested positive to coronavirus. He made this announcement on Twitter. In his tweet, he noted that his son has been rushed to a hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Reacting to the news that Atiku’s son tested positive to the novel virus, some Nigerians on social media have mocked the politician. According to them, if not for the viral nature of the virus, Atiku would have sent his son outside the country for treatment but with the recent pandemic, Atiku would have no choice but to treat his son in some of the unequipped hospitals in Nigeria.

Pius Johnson wrote, “Before now he would have been flown abroad for medical care. But now that there is no way out, he must stay in Nigeria to be treated in our rotten hospitals. Our politicians think they are always wise. Now that their evil ways have caught up with them; they have realized they are not wise after all.” (sic)
Evangelist D D Musa wrote, “Wish him quick recovery. Nigerians as a whole, the government as well as individuals should learn from this COVID-19 pandemic. You see big men and politicians taking their children abroad for schools and medical stuff and we fail to develop our medical facilities. God will help Nigeria and Nigerians.” (sic)
Mosugu Gideon Quentin wrote, “This is a typical tale of Lazarus and the rich guy, but in this tale both are alive to tell the tale...#coronavirus must humble our leaders!!! I think the judgement of God is upon us, it will first visit the powerful and mighty, this is just to humiliate and humble them and it is a major of sign of warning.” (sic)

It is common knowledge that politicians and their family members hardly treat themselves in Nigeria because they don’t trust our hospitals. These Nigerians are probably mocking Atiku because of he won’t be able to send his son abroad for treatment because of the travelling restrictions.
After his announcement, it dawned on Nigerians that indeed, this coronavirus is real!
We wish Atiku’s son and every Nigerian affected by the coronavirus a quick recovery...

My enemies want me to keep the country closed because of coronavirus so I lose the election - Donald Trump makes bizarre claim against 'fake news'
US president Donald Trump, bizarrely accused the media which he regularly refers to as 'fake news' of wanting the coronavirus pandemic to continue as long as possible and paralyze the economy so he loses his November 2020 Presidential re-election.
Trump has staked his re-election bid on a strong U.S. economy but the stock market fell after business shut down and people stayed home to avoid spreading the coronavirus.
Trump, who has been berated by some media houses for his initial handling of the coronavirus outbreak in the US, advocated reopening businesses by Easter Sunday to help the falling U.S. economy but several medical experts have cautioned that could be too early to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Now Trump suggests the fake news media is behind plans to instill fear and panic in Americans so the economy can be shut as long as possible and cause him to lose the forthcoming elections.
Trump complained on Twitter saying;
'I have been packed all day with meetings, I have no time for stupidity. We’re working around the clock to KEEP AMERICA SAFE!,' he wrote.
Trump then snapped back at a reporter who asked him about the issue.
'I think there are certain people who would like it not to open so quickly and they think that would be very good as far as defeating me at the polls,' he told CBS' Paula Reid in response to her question.
'There are people in your profession that would like that to happen. I think it's very clear -- I think it's very clear that there are people in your profession that write fake news,' he told her. 'You do.'
'They would love to see me for whatever reason because we've done one hell of a job,'
'Nobody's done the job we've done, and it's lucky you have this group here for this problem or you wouldn't even have a country left.'
Trump fired off another tweet to complain about his press coverage.
'The LameStream Media is the dominant force in trying to get me to keep our Country closed as long as possible in the hope that it will be detrimental to my election success. The real people want to get back to work ASAP. We will be stronger than ever before!,' he wrote.

Americans to receive $1,200 while Canadians will receive $2,000 as stimulus against coronavirus outbreak
Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has announced new financial measures to help Canadians affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Workers who lost their income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, people who are quarantined, caring for someone with COVID-19 and parents who have to stay home to take care of their kids will be given $2,000 a month for up to four months through the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB).
The new system replaces the Emergency Care Benefit and the Emergency Support Benefit to streamline benefits for those whose qualify for Employment Insurance (EI) and those who don’t, after over a million people applied for the old program last week.
Trudeau said during a news conference;
“Families are worried about when they’ll get help. It can be hard to get through on the line, and that is frustrating.
“Public servants are working around the clock, while dealing with unprecedented demand and all of the same personal stress everyone else is facing. They will get to your application.”
Americans will also receive a $1,200 check in about three weeks as part of the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus relief bill, White House officials said on Wednesday as the unprecedented package hit a snag in Congress.
Americans earning less than $75,000 a year would receive a check for $1,200, or couples earning less than $150,000 would receive a check for $2,400. Families would receive $500 per child.
Checks will be reduced by $5 for every $100 exceeding those thresholds. It completely phases out at $99,000 in income for individuals, $146,500 for head of household filers with one child and $198,000 for joint filers with no children.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said;
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the unprecedented response from the Senate to protect American workers and American business in this situation. This is going to be an enormous help for the American workers and the American economy."
Instagram is removing coronavirus-related content not shared by health organizations in order to stop false claims from spreading
Instagram has announced they have started removing coronavirus-related content and accounts from recommendations and 'Explore' unless posted by credible health organizations.
The Facebook-owned app said the move is to stop false claims and conspiracy theories that have been flagged by authorities from causing harm to the public during the pandemic.
According to the social media giants, users who search for information related to the coronavirus will be presented with an educational message connecting them to resources from the World Health Organization and local health ministries.
When they also search in Explore, they will see reputable sources and pages from the World Health Organization, United Nations Children's Fund and other official organizations.
Instagram says it is 'working quickly to make this available globally over the coming weeks.'
'We will also start to downrank content in feed and Stories that has been rated false by third-party-fact checkers,' the photo-sharing platform added.
The move comes a week after Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the firm's new 'Coronavirus Information Center' during a phone press conference from his home on Wednesday ( Mar.18).
Zuckerberg said when users search for content related to the outbreak, the hub will appear at the top of users' Feeds with authoritative information from organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the CDC.
'The top priority for us has been making sure people can get access to good trustworthy information about the outbreak from reliable sources,' Zuckerberg said during the call.
'During a pandemic we are seeing hoaxes convincing people who are sick not to get treatment or protect people around them.'
'We've seen one hoax that encourages people if you're sick to drink bleach to cure it.
'That's terrible, that's going to cause imminent harm.'
