Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona was reportedly arrested this week after his ex-girlfriend sued him for a $9 million pay-out.

Local media in Buenos Aires claimed the football legend was detained when he flew into the Argentina capital from Mexico.

Maradona was returning to his homeland from Mexico where he is manager of club side Dorados de Sinaloa when he was reportedly confronted and then issued formal notice of the proceedings against him from Rocio Oliva.

It was also reported that Maradona was spoken to regarding a court action filed by his former partner Rocio Oliva, who he dated for six-year before they broke up in December last year.

Oliva recently launched a claim in the San Miguel Family Court for “action of economic compensation” against the 58-year-old.

A court date has been listed for June 13, which will be attended by his lawyer Matias Morla.

According to the Sun, Maradona was later released after several hours of interrogation, and negotiation aided by the Argentinian consul Agostin Molin.

Thank you for not converting me to Islam'' - Rotimi Amaechi tells President Buhari

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday jokingly thanked President Buhari for not converting him to Islam, saying he has been attacked severally for associating with a President who many assumed was planning to Islamize Nigeria.

Amaechi said this at the valedictory Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House Abuja yesterday Wednesday, May 22nd.

The former Rivers state governor narrated how he was almost chased out of Christ the King Catholic Church in 2014 for supporting the president, who they alleged was trying to Islamise the country.

“Mr President, let me thank you for not converting me to Islam. I say that specifically because in 2014 when I walked into Christ the King Catholic Church, I was literally chased out of the church as a governor because I was accused of supporting a man whose agenda was to Islamise Nigeria.

And in Rivers state they began to call me `Alhaji Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’. I thank you because they have dropped the `Alhaji’ and back to Mr Chibuike Amaechi,’’ he said.

Amaechi said some persons initially thought that the president would be an autocratic leader only for him to turn out to be an “extreme democrat’’.

“I was told in the course of the campaign that you were autocratic and therefore you would not be democratic. Most of us are not happy that you have moved from your autocratic nature to an extreme democrat that everything puts to test of the people, to the extent that the people now feel that the only way things can go on in this country is by the rule of law.

“We all know that the rule of law is the beginning and the end of this government. Talking about the financial impunity that we saw before, people were making money without having any productive capacity for that’’ he said

2face Idibia accuses COSON of corruption, says 'its criminal for the body to demand and collect royalties on behalf of members'

Nigerian music legend, 2face Idibia this morning took to Instagram to accuse the Tony Okoroji led COSON of corruption.

2face in a lenghty post wrote, 'from the figures share recently, COSON has lost about N250m to the crisis that erupted with the December 7, 2017 sacking of Chief Tony Okoroji as 'chairman'.

He went on to say, 'the society collected N200m less than the sum of the previous year and spent over N50m on lawsuits and office security within the year. Simple compliance with the NCC's directives or submission to the wide call for independent audit to prove the innocence of the directors against allegations of financial misconduct may have saved COSON at least, N230m, that's assuming the audit cost N20m'.

To worsen issues, the license don kuku expire sef making it criminal for COSON to demand and collect royalties on behalf of members.

Then today we see this: "With respect to the COSON mandate to carry on its operations ... COSON has been assured by its team of lawyers that with the various issues still awaiting determination at various courts and with the recent decisions of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, no one has the power to unilaterally stop the operations of COSON." "Lawyers", "various issues", "various courts"...because of simple forensic audit?

Musician work, lawyer and police chop everything finish. My people, no be one chance we don enter so o? If you ask me, na who I go ask?

Japan tells the world it has been saying the name of it's prime minister Abe Shinzo incorrectly 13-years after he took office

It has been revealed that the name of the Japanese Prime Minister has been said incorrectly for 13 years after he took office.

Following the coronation of Emperor Naruhito, he has ordered media and the rest of the world to call the leader they have known as Shinzo Abe by his right name, Abe Shinzo.

'I plan to ask international media organisations to do this,' Foriegn Minister Taro Kono said.

'Domestic media outlets that have English services should consider it, too,' the foreign minister added.

Education Minister, Masahiko Shibayama also said his department would encourage all government authorities to use family names first.

By Japanese convention, a person's family name comes before their given name, just as in China or Korea - where foreign journalists seem have no problem getting the names of politicians and celebrities right, according to Daily Mail.

Singer, Simi has finally spoken about Naira Marley's arrest.
