John Legend becomes the first black man and youngest person to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony Award

After accepting an Emmy Sunday night for his role as a producer on the live musical Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which won the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award, John Legend became the first black man to collect an EGOT.

An EGOT winner is someone who has bagged an Emmy, a Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. The first black entertainer to win an EGOT was Whoopi Goldberg, an honor she secured in 2002.

With this, John Legend becomes the 15th entertainer in history to collect all four statues and the youngest too, at the age of 39. The singer, composer and producer won his first Grammy in 2005, including Best New Artist. Meaning it took him just 13 years to win an Oscar, a Tony and an Emmy, each of which are considered lifetime achievements in their own right.

His wife Chrissy Teigen, celebrated his win with a photo of him alongside two other new EGOT winners and co-producers for Jesus Christ Superstar Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice.

Man makes shocking discovery about a white woman who walked up to speak fluent Igbo to him and her story will surprise you

An Igbo man in the UK received the shock of his life when an old white lady came up to him to speak fluent Igbo to him. During their conversation, he made an interesting discovery about her.

Uche Anyanwagu said the lady, whose name he later discovered is Nkechi Rosalind Colwell, tapped him, then asked him for his state of origin in fluent Igbo. When he replied, she told him she worked in his state, Abia state. The rest of her story gets even more interesting as you read.

Anyanwagu wrote:

Precisely three weeks ago, I had a tap on my back shortly after a Church service in London. As I turned to behold at whose behest, I saw an elderly lady on a wheel chair.

.

.

Her words were simple, straight and shocking - “I b? onye Igbo?" (Are you Igbo?)

.

.

I stared at her with my mouth agape, not sure if she was the one who asked. I felt I had some auditory hallucination but I managed to reluctantly nod in affirmation.

.

.

She gave a toothy smile and probed further - “Ebe n'ala Igbo ka ? s??" (which part of Igbo land are you from?)

.

.

I told her in shock. She smiled again and said: “M ruru ?r? na Steeti g? for more than 35 years" (loosely translated, “I worked in your State for more than 35 years)

.

.

As she wanted to tell about herself and her works, my mind quickly went down the memory lane. With every goosebumps my entire body could hold, I asked her: “I b? Nkechi Rosalind Colwell?"

.

.

She nodded but this time in tears. I rushed and knelt down before her and hugged her in tears.

.

.

Angels come in human forms and I was so sure I just met one.

.

.

NKECHI ROSALIND COLEWELL came to Uzuakoli in Abia State as a young nurse and served in the Leper Colony there.

.

.

She was touched by our lackadaisical attitude towards mental health. She couldn’t stand seeing our mentally-challenged siblings roaming the streets even for simple curable ones.

.

.

She opened a Home for the Mentally ill at Amaudo, Itumbauzo and went round the whole of Abia State, picking up and admitting our siblings to this home.

.

.

They got medical care, learnt a skill and some were rehabilitated and reintegrated into the society.

.

.

Nkechi left the comfort of her home in United Kingdom and dedicated her entire life serving the most deprived in forgotten corners of our homeland.

.

.

As her sister later told me, “She is Nigerian and hardly identifies as British. She still eats your food and desires to return home back to you someday...”

.

.

Her fluency in Igbo language thrilled us all. For almost an hour we spoke, even with my family, we did in Igbo.

.

.

She was given the name NKECHI by Late Pa Herbert Osoka. The community she served also gave her a chieftaincy title, while she was knighted by the Methodist Church.

.

.

Unfortunately, NKECHI suffered a massive stroke attack at Itumbauzo which left her partially paralysed and confined to wheelchair.

.

.

She had to go back to United Kingdom, even against her personal desire (unlike our President) due to the poor state of our healthcare.

.

.

People like NKECHI COLEWELL deserve sainthood.

.

.

In a country where national honours are bestowed on undeserving politicians and highest-bidding business men, NKECHI’s name can be easily forgotten.

.

.

In a State where selective amnesia rules her political class, NKECHI won’t be found fit for the “Enyi (Elephant) Abia” state honours and their likes.

.

.

I thanked NKECHI for her service to an ungrateful people like us. I told her that her breed is rare, and when the roll will be called, I believe that she will be counted as the Righteous Among The Nations.

.

.

Thank you, Ms NKECHI COLEWELL

Princess Diana's letter from Prince Philip reveal he and The Queen "never dreamed" their son Charles will leave her for Camilla

Princess Diana and Prince Charles' marriage was plagued with a lot of scandals and cheating before they divorced 26 years ago. A letter written to Prince Philip by Princess Diana has now been released and it shows that Prince Philip disapproved of his son's love life.

It is believed that the Queen wrote to the unhappy married couple to recommend they divorce when things got messy between the royal couple. But Prince Philip openly took his daughter-in-law's side during that period. Unearthed correspondence between himself and Diana show what he really thought of his son divorcing the Princess of Wales.

In a letter written in 1992, Philip told Diana of his and the Queen's disapproval of their son's love life. In the letters, Prince Philip called his son "silly" for risking "everything with Camilla for a man in his position".

Signed lovingly with "fondest love, Pa", Philip wrote:

We never dreamed he might feel like leaving you for her.

I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind would leave you for Camilla. Such a prospect never even entered our heads.

Prince Philip also sympathised with Diana and offered his support. He also offered to mediate in the war going on between her and her estranged husband, Prince Charles.

Although Philip was sympathetic, he also made it clear to Diana that he would not support her having new romantic relationships.

He wrote:

We do not approve of either of you having lovers.

He also said Diana was partly to blame for the breakdown of her and Charles' marriage.

He added:

Can you honestly look into your heart and say that Charles's relationship with Camilla had nothing to do with your behaviour towards him in your marriage?

In 1992, a number of royal scandals took place, keeping the family in the public eye for the rest of the year.

In March of that year, Prince Andrew and Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson separated, and a couple of months later Fergie was photographed sucking American tycoon John Bryan's toes while on holiday.

In April, Princess Anne announced that she would be divorcing Captain Mark Phillips.

To make matters worse, an intimate telephone conversations between Princess Diana and close friend James Gibney were leaked and published by The Sun. During the call, she said her situation with Charles and Camilla was like something that would happen to a character in EastEnders.
