Katy Perry appears to be under attack this month as people attempt to burst her pop bubble.
The 31-year-old hitmaker, who was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, is mocked in the new documentary Brand: The Second Coming, as he uses his marriage as part of a stand-up routine.
According to Grazia magazine, he jokes about her accent and "portrays her as a bimbo," before pal Noel Gallagher tries to give him tips, claiming he knew they wouldn't stay married for long.
He told the camera: "[Russell] calls me up once and says, 'What happens when she wants to watch a film and I want to watch another film? It's doing my head in!' And I was like, 'Just let her watch the f****** film'. I knew at that point this ain't gonna go much further."
The documentary's director, Ondi Timoner, claimed the comedian "threatened her" about taking certain scenes out of the movie, out on October 29, and didn't approve of the final edit.
He also spoke about the downfall of his marriage in clips in the documentary, after visiting Africa for Comic Relief in 2010, and how much he hated life as an A-list celebrity.
Russell said: "I'm associated with the very thing that I detest: vapid, vacuous, plastic, constructed, mindless celebrity," adding: "That's the very sea we're swimming in ... 'Oh, who's he? He's married to Katy Perry.'"
Meanwhile, Katy was dismissed as nothing more than a pointless pop singer in a scathing article in New York Magazine, which was originally given the title 'What is the point of Katy Perry, ever?'
According to Grazia magazine, her rep asked for it to be changed and it was later edited to Katy Perry And The Fear of the Female Plant.
Journalist Heather Havrilesky wrote: " She is a blank slate, a soothing emotional day spa for those who prefer easy answers. She's a void with swappable wigs, a tasty nothingburger." Ouch.
She was also compared to rival Taylor Swift and Beyonce, claiming while they push us to accept femininity and feminism, Katy simply "pushes such avant-garde, high concepts as teenagers, horny; California girls, awesome; aliens, weird; and kissing girls, actually kinda nice."
