Khloe Kardashian has opened up about Lamar Odom's brothel binge for the first time, describing her heartbreaking dash to his bedside.
The reality star described how she just "had to get there" and support the basketball star when he was left fighting for his life following a near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel two weeks ago.
Speaking to People magazine, Khloe revealed: "I had to get to him and make sure he was okay. I hate that he was in that situation. I wouldn't want anybody in that situation, especially someone I love and care about."
Khloe and Lamar split in 2013 and despite calling off divorce proceedings last week, the brunette beauty said they will not be getting back together.
She continued: "There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It's not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now.
"I loved him always, and I will always love him. I don't believe love is fickle. I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don't have to be with that person in order to love him."
Khloe said it was a "sigh of relief for everybody" when Lamar woke up after being placed into a medically-induced coma and although "every hour is different" she is cautiously optimistic about his condition.
Lamar faces a long road to recovery as it is claimed he is battling with aspiration pneumonia, which has left permanent scarring on his lungs, and is currently undergoing six hours of kidney dialysis a day.
Lamar has had a well-documented struggle with substance abuse which was a determining factor in the breakdown of their four-year marriage.
According to reports yesterday, Khloe has made it clear to Lamar that she'll help him through his recovery, but only if he turns his back on his drug past for good .
Khloe added there would be a very long journey ahead but confirmed her devotion to her estranged husband by saying: "I will be there supporting him every step of the way."
